Very attractive concept design. I liked the red eyed character very much. The brush technique you use, is quite unique. keep it up...You could play with more bold colors.I think....than can work with your stylization.
Some real nice designs in here. Liking your entry for COW176.

Really cool design, very coll COW entry.
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=136949 My sketchbook Critiques are welcome!
sutapa: Thank you, especially for the crit. I try to use bold colours pretty often, but I usually end up toning it down a bit because I'm afraid of going overboard. I guess I should work on getting a bit more confident with that sort of thing.
Kambei Shimada:Many thanks.
jskotte: Thank you very much.
Here are some really quick sketches of relatively small, simple objects in my living room. Nothing special.
DSG 1563: Robot Relic Has Been Raised And Partially Absorbed By Tree
In retrospect, the roots probably should have been tighter around the robot. Otherwise, I think it turned out pretty okay.

My little brother told me to draw a supercar. No reference. It ended up sort of weird and a little less "super" than originally intended, but I kind of like it.
The second image was done really quickly for DSG #1565.

Trying to draw cloth. Had to make a lot of adjustments near the end to make it look less plastic-y. Should have worked the sheets and wrinkles out a lot more in the lineart rather than making it up almost entirely as I rendered it. It's a bit of a mess. Despite that, I think I still kind of like how it turned out. I feel like I got the desired effect mostly right, anyway.
good light and the atmosphere
Here's a small collection of scraps and things that I've done somewhat recently (over the past few months), but I didn't feel were worth posting individually. I produce tons of little scraps like these. I think that I'll try to start dumping them in groups like this every now and then.
Today I decided to try drawing skin and the various phenomena that alter its appearance. I had a few more variants lined up (hair, moles, scabs, birthmarks and blisters, to name a few), but I didn't get any of those finished.

Thanks Metal Fingers!
Here's some objects in ballpoint pen from a few weeks ago and a piece for DSG #1566 ("Skeletally-Victorian Massive Egg Foundry, Shrouded in Haze"). I don't know if I interpreted the topic correctly and I don't know if I would consider it my best entry, but it was fun.

Thanks fudgeloaf! I will make sure to try something like that sometime.
I've been doing a bunch of anatomy studies lately because drawing people from imagination is easily one of my greatest weaknesses, artistically. I'm still a long way from where I want to be in the not-too-distant future, but I've gotten a tiny bit better at drawing realistic faces from imagination. Here are a few recent attempts. Also, a picture of a giant tree, which I've labeled simply because (a) I like labeling things, and (b) I thought the red fit in pretty nicely and I couldn't come up with a really quick-yet-stylish way of incorporating it. I kept the ridiculous label on a separate layer, just in case I ever decide to go back and work on it a bit more (unlikely).
Chris, those are some nice creatures and studies, but I would like to see more pixel art from you some when the opportunity arises.

Trillian: Request to be added first.
FightingSeraph: I really want to do more pixel art too, but I've uninstalled all of my dedicated pixel art programs, leaving me only with Photoshop CS3 and MS Paint. I can't turn anti-aliasing off in CS3, so that won't work, and MS Paint has gotten even more frustrating to work with since the version that came with Vista. There will be more pixel art, I promise, but not right away. I'll have to get around to installing something new to do it with first.
Right now, some eyes from internet photo reference.
Really like them eyes! Also like the Laptop battery. Hope to see sum moar!
My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills
