I love the post #114 the treebiker,....very very very coool picture,.........
Oh by the why I am the guy from subway sketching,.....I am just figuring out
how to add you guys,....oh I have new stuff too,.......
Cool stuff Joel, love the fly painting! Maybe you shouldnt have used the black ink on the distant hand though, just cause it adds a lot of contrast whereas the rest of the arm seems to be fading out, makes it stand out more than it should imo.
City envronment looks cool, might be useful to add some detail to give us a sense of scale for the whole thing.
holey shit guy, i thought of you as soon as i found out it was october, i knew you would be up to some cool shit. that whearbeast is sickkK@@!! ive just been in vancouver, drawing lots again, but after seeing that whearbeast i gotta get outta here and do some drawing, and yea gotta get as many of thoes twisted drawings in as you can this month... and then keep em comming after that haha, later man.

lower your viewpoint if you wanna make it more epic! Make us look up at it. Maybe even try showing it from the ships point of view with the massive beams standing hundreds of feet above their heads! The ship is the only thing suggesting scale right now, but thats partially because you havent gone into the tiny details that really show how big it is. Teeny-tiny icicles, icebergs, maybe the usual whale/birds, smaller, more varied ice formations, tiny crevices for snow to catch on.
Lookin good Joel! Havent seen the top one before, its a different approach for you. Should've figured out the drawing underneath first though, the hands and face are both more contorted/distorted than they should be, and I dont know why you left the feet so blocky?
The other two look good, but side by side its kinda silly that you used the exact same compostion and colours, with the sun coming through a space in the centre. Other than that maybe the surfer painting could be more finished. My eye is drawn to the sky and clouds, but that area is pretty loose and unfinished.
Hey boy, where have you been? I'm sure we're missing out on tons of great stuff from you!
Since my last comment here, your work on the fly and toxic surfer are great great, always love your pencil rendering. Hurry up and come back with something cool!
I'll try and hound you on msn or something, yes.
Thanks for the comments!
Here is a group of images from a Hollow Earth project I was working on. Including another render of the toxic surfer.
now that summer is almost here I want to start doing more studies and post regularly..
thanks for checking it out...

Cool works, I like them alot.
Keep using that imagination!
I vote for excellence
awesome sketchbook amigo! so much variation in subject matter and I'm a sucker for those simply one or two tone value silhouettes that are seen above! Keep up the good work, and thanks for the ideas!
Damn son, you've been hard at work since your short hiatus from CA. I love your toxic surfer bio luminescent variant renders, and that gigantic albino cave centipede makes my skin crawl, those wispy hairs are disgusting! Also, your gilled salamander men are fun, and your painting of the mushman trudging trough the muck is really neat too. Hell, everything is great man, wonderful pencil rendering on beardyman as well.
Yeye boiiiiii! Nice cave dwellers. Do post more! I will if you do.
