Hey! I like the colorful figure with the shorts up there, really bright colors. I think the hands could be a bit stronger...the one of the right feels like its bending strangely, and the left one is too long in the 'palm' area?
For painting faces I might still suggest using reference if you want to study lighting...you havent done it wrong, its just a harder task than line drawing a face..or do it just in greys and no color. a few things such as the shape of his head and the left eye looking up too far take away from it...good effort and keep on going
Ahhh i know , it was only for study color, so i used what i found fast, and i found this sketch with no good anatomy
I will do what you said. The bad thing is that i cant fit 2 windows in the screen to see the photo and draw cause of the small screen but i guess it will also benefit me to study the photo, so i will do it.
These days include carnival and such and next week i am going to my hometown for a week and then i'll be back.
So i may not be so active around these days.
Btw i might do the damn upgrade very soon
see ya all
(EDIT:i made a speed character thumbnails...anyway just i think its not nice to have an empty post )

Ok i couldnt sleep without doing something before going to bed .
So i cought my mouse again and make an entirely digital stuff while using this time a little ref that i will upload it also.
(That was a very fun work for me and also a very good training, even if i still did it with mouse(paperX ) )
Anyway thnx you all for your great support, and for your critiques that are the ones that throw me to higher levels. You said ref, i did , i learned , just an quick example. You all here have given me very good critiques that i always take in mind, so never stop
see ya!!!!Good night from greece
First i put the ref, then the original and then the variations
Dude i love it, I'm proud! I can even learn from you in the fact that you take critiques seriously and really appreciate them...and your extra effort here has clearly paid off
Much more solid feeling study! your head is tilted up a bit more, however it looks like you've compensated and nailed the feature. I like the original color best. Pat yourself on the back.
OH and in your first post today, by 'upgrade' soon, did you mean tablet????
cool stuff man, you're getting there, the no ref stuff is getting better and better, and every time I see it I say the same thing to myself "practice that too!!" Very difficult is the human in perspective, good you keep working on it!!
I am on the last lesson on my photoshop course now so after I will practice drawing some more (from my head like you!), and update my sketchbook! been too long.
Keep it up dude, always looking forward to more of your work =)
hi like the last one! but wathc out you stretched her face a bit width-wise also her eayes seem to far apart and watch out how her head is tilted slightly forward in the original!
anyways keep up your work!
Sketchbook (daily Oils):
flamable-Thats it pal, i finally saw what i really want to do in my life .I am glad you enjoy my journey, and i see you also keep up really good.
Jakers-hahaha thnx jak, thnx for the encouragment!!!Well because i passed all the lessons in University and because my parents have low salary, the goverments gives me 1000 euro to use them in paying for the house i rent but this time i cant be so helpful with my parents so i wanna use a lot of the money for a full upgrade PC+screen+tablet (because its not spending, its actually giving money to be better, and make money later )
Janos-Thank you Janos i will check it for sure!!!
AlexTooth-aaa dont worry.Finish your job and after that i expect uploads !!!!Thank you very much!!!
Katzenminze-Thank you very much!!! Because the most of you said about tiltilng, i hope i will be able to fix that easily by drawing with a tablet.Maybe i missed the whole by working in 200% zoom to fit .Anyway enough with this, i did a false and i have to fix it either with mouse or with tablet
Damn all these posts are very encouraging and motivating to me.
As i said i might lower the uploads for a week but dont worry cause i will keep up.
Thnx again all of you for the accurate critiques and for the support!!!!!!!!
You are fellows to my journey
Hey m8, Nice work on that last one with ref, man u need to get a tablet, ur already great at doing digi art, would be great too see what u can do with tablet
as for crits, the eyes are different size, and i would make her look down a bit more, it possible like this.. just not very natural
keep it coming!
Solid progress man. Didn't know you used a mouse to paint, I tried it just awhile ago today and I felt like eating wood. I am sure this upgrade that you've been planning will really, really help at getting your atrsyjuices flowing, so much easier to let loose with a pen!
I'll be watching!
NoodleDoodle-Thank you !!!yes i will keep trying hard!!!
Joey-b-Thank you joey !!!I hope ill have that soon
grenappels-Thank you gren thnx for visiting!!!
Ok tomorrow i leave to my hometown for a week.I think this will be a little break even if i will continue sketching there ;D.
Anyway i did another one from ref-that time changed it more. Its another comrade of captain king (i try to make studies while completing little by little my little personal project )
I dunno if you will like it more than the previous but one thing is sure , i learned alot .
Classic original + variations+ref
see ya all and thnx for the great and continuous support!!!!
first goes the ref, then the original, then i played a little with saturation and then the one i like most, is when i played with the light.i added more light cause of the effect he does with his hand.Anyway check it
wow, your latest stuff is fricking AWESOME!!!!!
look good man...I still dont know how you can do these with a mouse haha I agree with zou though, the yellow is a bit too saturated, sometimes you just have to know where to draw the line when tweaking
keep it up man, im seeing crazy improvements!!!
I really love: this one
young paddy1-Thnx very much !!!
zou-thnx and thnx for the crit !!!
paperX-Thnx!!!!!! haha i will soon get the tablet, i already put in the cart the new pc !!!
Joey-b-Thnx joey!!! thnx very much!!!
Janos-Thnx janos i will explain below what happens about contrast
Diverse- thnx for the crit pal!!!
Ok now i am sitting on my brothers pc a good good pc.Now see what happens.
About the contrast , as i see the pictures i did in my other pc(in my "studio" lol if i can call it studio) i see that here they look damn. The contrast is pfff as janos said and that immediately make it flat as diverse said.
In the pc which i did it , the contrast of the screen is bad cause screen that i am working on is CRT (year 1998) 14" and its RGB is bad and i slap it everyday to get the red color and the green back to life.
Anyway now i have already ordered the new pc so i am very happy !!!
see ya now and thnx all for the support!!!
King! I have not updated for a few weeks - I have failed you. Though hopefully I will have a bit more time to draw now.
I've been checking your sketchbook though (as one of those 'guests' in the shadows), and you are keeping up the excellent work! As well as pace!
Using youtube videos as reference is an awesome idea. Good show sir!
totally man...and then you'll find colour calibration on LCD's is a total bitch
glad to hear you're getting some new hardware man, don't let the traditional side of things drop either! can't wait to see what you'd be able to do with a proper set up
Nice updates duder - sorry too hear about your screen, most crt monitors have better colours than lcd (LCD needs a bit of settting up to get the right gamma so you can see all your hues and values)
the girly one is awesome, great use of ref!
wow awesome updates lately! nice way to work! i'm sorry bout your screen! - mine is a ticking time bomb too - makes noises like a mowing machine. have fun with your new one buddy!
wow , the eyes tell us that he want to kill somebody! love the effect on his hand, but i think it will be more effective if you darken the background
I did this image from my head, but I could not have without a lot of life drawing and painting.——Craig Mullins
Ok for the new one, I think you went TOO far with the yellow light on the side of his face, for a few reasons...maybe there is a lesson in it. It flatens the forms a lot, and its now the focal point! Yellow is verrry bright, his cheek grabs my attention more than his eyes do.
The changes you made gave him a lot more interest as a character - I would add some sharper edges on hard changes in direction as its quite soft in most places.
Yay on the extra money...tablets arent a LOT so I hope you get one. Then you dedicate the first to me!
