Love the octopus and the Frazetta study.
Just keep pumping out the anatomy studies too. I think that the neck is a weak area for you at the moment, so pay attention to how you connect the torso and head.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!
Thanks Sevans ill keep on my studies, ya the heads a weak area for me i kinda just randomly place the head.

some bridgemen neck studies
A character using no ref any crits appreicated.
Heres my entry i did for the new teen challenge.
some action shots
Thanks tmbritton ya im influenced by alot of the art thats around me, i see alot of graffiti and know many amazing graffiti artists, it is a clash of two tottaly diffrent styles love the way graff is just all your mind good warmup drawing i think.
heres a small update my entry for the new teen challenge not done yet gona add some people about to be obliterated into the scene.
Small update im really starting to like digital art work so fun.
matty_mcmullen- thanks will keep at it.
Wow! Love your studies! I also like your colored pieces. I'm really drawn in by the colors. Very nice sketchbook!!
I definitely see improvement over the course of this thread. The anatomy is gradually getting tighter and your shading is improving. I would suggest trying to draw or paint something totally different and see how it affects the character stuff you're doing.
So i havnt posted in ages lets see how this goes.

My horribe attempt to color a sketch.
Heres todays batch of messing around in photoshop. Any critiques are very appreciated trying to see were I need to improve.
dude your figures are so natural! bridgeman and frazetta have done you well im really pleased to see your progress with your digital work, its all looking very promising. i would suggest trying some bigger brushes, just to block in those larger areas a little better. sketchy is cool, but if you want the piece to appear more "polished" you'll wanna define your planes a little more. great stuff, and thanks for the kind comment in my SB, i appreciate it
stoph-Thanks man ill have to drop by your sketchbook more often, amazing works in there.
Heres todays randomness.
Hey Omerta, you've got a really nice sketchbook going man! If I may offer a small bit of advice it'd be to do some more drawing/painting from real life or references. It will only help your strong fantasy illustrations become more believable. Things like anatomy issues in your figures get in the way of the final feel of the image you are creating. And more studies from life/ref will give you more ideas and shapes to play with when you do try to pull from imagination. For example your last digi-painting of the warrior. It has really strong values which makes it really pop, but the anatomy in the arms/hands as well as the legs really distract. For your fantasy drawings, having things be photo realistic is not necessary, but believable is important If studies are boring, mix in the fantasy stuff as you do studies. Whatever it takes Good job overall man, I'll be on the look out for more! Thanks for stopping by my SB by the way, critiques will only help!
zhonked-Thanks man ya really been pushing on getting characters strait from my head. Its time for me real studies now. Thanks for the critique man.
Heres somethin ive been messing around with the last 2 days.
Great work! You've definitely improved a lot from the start of this sketchbook. I agree with zhonked that you should do some studies from life and reference again.
Overall, great progress. Keep it up!
My path to improvement: a.k.a, my lame sketchbook.
This last one is looking good! The proportions and anatomy are feeling better, though some of that is covered by the blacks in the drawing. The flat black of her costume and face is very graphic and causes a lot of visual interest. As long as that is your intent then good job! If not though, I would suggest thinking about what the material the black is made of. Is it shiny like plastic or dull fabric or something in between like leather? The white highlights on the glove make it look plastic-like. If the bra, skirt and boots are the same material then I think we would be able to see the same kind of shiny effect. If you are not trying to be overly graphic you can try adding a bit of light from the side/below to help the forms in the black. Which while impactful is very flat compared to the rendering on the flesh. A very nice piece overall, I hope you'll keep pushing it further! Keep it up!
hey man thanks for dropping by the sb
i really like the photoshop work for a teen challenge way down at the bottom of the page the shapes work great.
keepp drawing dude
nice studies man, careful with the human anatomy, its a pain in the ass i know the arms of your characters are either to big and long, or to small. i think im not saying anything that you not already aware. either way keep it up man, you are definitely improving by the post!
mollymillions-thanks man, ya digitals a pain for me sometimes really feels
like its a big trial and error process.
Foolsauce-Ya wish i had a scanner that worked on my new computer been
doing many studies in my sketchbooks. All the work ive posted is
all straight digital.
zhonked-Thanks for the critique. But your definetly right on the cloths and
the blacks. I need to start oberserving real life cloths more thanks
for droping buy man your a very talented artist.
hunchbackmagee-thanks man will do!
Shalite-Thanks for the tip, ya i have a hardtime coloring stuff thats from my
mind. I have alot to learn.
Call0ps-Haha thanks man, ya anatomy is a pain proportions and faces are
what i really should be focusing on. Thanks for droping by.
heres what ive been messing around with in photoshop.
still trying to get a scanner to scan my pages of my sketchbook.
critiques highly appreciated.
Heres a ferret warrior guy haha still working on it.
Nicely done. Love the Frazetta studies.
There is nice rhythm in your line work and a good level of improvement over time. Keep it up!
One thing to watch out for when rendering is that you don't use the full range of tone, from black to white, for every surface/object. A white object will have both much lighter shadows and highlights than a mid-gray or black object.
I hope that makes some sense.
Thank you for the comments and crits guys. Just wanted to share my first bike riding pic and a doodle for the day.
After a long hard day of fishing.
Some Bridgemen studies.
I Need to study more!!!
