I will confess to staying up pretty well all night when I was in the zone painting at your age. Just make sure you rest afterwards.
Man you got humor, the 1655# squirel made me laugh, in a good way. There is some nice linework at the prev page. Maybe try to avoid hard outlines a bit. Keep up and take care man.
My Sketchbook ---> http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...42#post3225942
Odayga Thanks. I feel I can hardly say I have a style. It happens inevitably and gradually and all that shit, but considering my skill level, I feel most of my drawing decisions are made because I'm scared to leave my comfort zones or really learn or anything, and not because I know what I'm doing and decide to make things a certain way, if that makes sense.
Call0ps Craig Mullins went here too?! what the fuck. School's been kicking my ass. I'm currently on a leave to try to get back on my feel and gather what's been thrown at me so far. I feel like I've lost 5 years off my life because of this school. Jeez.
Ryanoir Just lemme know when you wanna do a quick thunderdome. Sorry for missing out on that Sargent one you were doing. D:
Emil_ Thanks. Yeah. It's something I've been trying to accomplish more of while I still have time to myself like this.
hunchback HNNRGHRHGRHGRHG LET'S DO THIS
Brashen Thanks. It's almost like I'm loose because I'm impatient, though. I want to slow down more, though. Since the beginning it's been a problem for me that I've yet to really tackle.
Jovian_M PSSSSH BRO YOURS IS GRACEFUL AS FUCK
Jaytea hells yea
Diarum Hatching can be really fun to do. *_*
Snootchy Thanks. Not me. D:
Meaisín Thanks for the feedback.
qlotzan Thank you. I'll do my best.
Black Spot I'm just beginning to recognize just how valuable sleep is.
jackpot_anjr90 Thanks man, just lemme know when you have some free time on your hands. Any specifics for my line consistency problem? Are you referring to hatching, how careful I am in treating them, or how harsh I tend to get with my outlines like knut- pointed out? Looking forward to some clarification so I can get to work! |D
Naidy Thanks, I'll try to make my next update less flimsy and pitiful. D:
knut- haha thanks. The squirrel was a lot of fun in how at ease I was in sketching it and putting color on it. In that sense it's one of my face speed pieces so far. And thanks for pointing out the line thing. D: It's something I now wanna really focus on.
sorry guise. this is gonna be a flimsy update.
I took a bit of a break for a few days cos I finished my last sketchbook way too quickly and needed to save money for a new one, but it then turned into me feeling sorry for myself and pissed about my lack of progress and focus on all the wrong things, like approval from others, the pressure of competition at this goddamn school of art superhumans that I don't feel cut out to be in right now and my stupid goal of being a design rockstar before my next birthday.
Fuck it. Fuck all of that.
A part of me may disagree with the "just compete with yourself" phrase that I hear when I voice my problems to people, but even my stupid immature head knows that I shouldn't be this afraid of negative feedback to create.
I don't have to love my skills and work right now but I do have to nourish them and encourage its growth, and keeping myself in Pageant mode in a place like this thread or a classroom is counterproductive and just foolish.
blah blah blah
let's just cut to the tiny number of images and go our merry ways.
A 1hr Frazetta value study thunderdome with BadGeometry. I didn't like how careless I was with hatching, so I did another study from Bougereau.
I then tried a drawing from imagination and saw a little weakness and did a quick study from vilppu, and some from imagination afterward. I'm still a little weak, so I'll do a couple more studies from photo maybe.
..yeah. this post is weird.
your pencils really make me smile
i want to say something nice and encouraging thing to say to you about everything but right now i can't, i just got nothing ;_; but yeah i totally agree with you, FUCK IT.

by a stroke of luck i finally managed to chanced upon this awesome thread! loving the randomness and whimsicalness of ur random posts!
Great progress and dedication throughout this book, surprised I've never stop here before. Noticed your post from earlier. Art is a love and hate relationship at times as long as your enjoying what your doing and are happy not much else really matters. Sometimes it's good to give yourself a break and to experience life, it's hard to create art without any life experiences to put back into it. You got a nice balance of work in here: imagination, life and reference. Be great to see some more polished pieces in here to help go with your looser work.

Your pencil work is super awesome! And the poses in the last PChat sketches are super awesome!
PChat sounds like fun.
Aaand... read your previous post about the competition an' all- I can relate to that. But, as Yautja892 said- as long as you're happy it's all good In my oppinion, as cliched as it might be, if you've got the drive to go on (which you apparently do, judging by the 58 pages here), you'll get to where you want to be with your art. But yeah, having breaks from time to time really helps.
So, thanks for the inspiration! Waiting for the next update
Oh hello. Come here often?
