I can see you are eager to learn and trying to benefit as much as possible. Very good! As a tip, you should use a straight veritcal help line (as a beginners sugestion) to get your figures and objects straight. They'll bend from top right to bottom left. Not very comfortable. Also thanks for commenting in my sketchbook!
Argh...damn all the time my schoolwork consumes. I wasn't able to do a lot today, maybe I'll be able to finish and post more later tonight. For now, feast your eyes on these
Sorry guys, something I was meaning to ask. Does anyone have any good tips on coloring and painting, or any good tutorials? Thanks in advance
Aaah, great updates, like the last one it's a definite step up. Also the inked version of the character at the end of the previous page was good.
I'm not sure what drawing your question is about, most times I start with pencil and then paint digitally. The very last one in my sb was heavily modified in Photoshop. It was actually a quickie sketch that I couldn't bear to just trash. I need to fix the arm holding the gun but I've been busy with other stuff. TTYL.
N1va: Always good to hear from you, thanks for stopping by!
Reject-D: I'll definitely look into those vids. Hopefully I'll have a tablet soon, and I can get some digital work going!
hey mate, thanks for stopping by my SB! keep up with those studies, it wont be long before you see vast improvements in your work
Hey buddy, thanks for leaving a comment in my book
You're working hard, so you'll improve by default, just keep in mind to have your goals high up. I recommend you to search for the artists that inspire you the most and copy some of their stuff on the side, it'll help you focus on the span of subjects you want to create, as well as give you pointers of how to use your tools to your liking.
Hey everyone, sorry, its been a while since I last posted, I've kind of been completely swamped with work I have good news! I finally got my hands on a wacom touchpad, and from what you can see below, I'm very happy with it I'll be looking up some tutorials on digital painting and drawing, so any links would be nice! Any techniques you could share would also be REALLY helpful
I found a photo of a friend, and used my brand new tablet to draw it! I might use this later for facial color studies, so I'll leave it black and white for now.
Hey man, just thought id drop in here after you left some comments in my sketchbook, thanks for that
THe hand studies look really good here, and the character that you inked really stands out from the crowd, i like it a lot!
I think with your drawings, you should try some different linework to help dimension and depth. At the moment all your linework is the same all around the characters, so try maybe some long sweeping lines, ala Glen Keane like this:

Or perhaps some continuous linework stuff like possibly my all time fave Alan Lee:

Your stuff has improved leaps and bounds since your first page, so keep at it and keep pushing to find that next level
All the best, look forward to any updates!
Yet another sketch of a friend done with this wonderful pad (had a reference photo, of course)
My god...I can't stop doing this....I love this pad so much! I think I'm actually better with it than I am with pencil and paper :/
