You can always just go to the headhunters thread and challenge people there, or click on people's names and send them a PM.
I gotcha. Now change the title of this thread, it's silly. I'll take Defender, option A.
looks like you still have some painting to do, if you need more time it's not a problem. i messed mine up, i need to do some fixing up here and there. just let me know how you wanna do this thing.
lol, that's freakin' awesome. Finish him!
Wow, that's..... wow...
Looks like I'm gonna have to put the hurtin' on ya...
lol it deffinetly didnt come out how i invisioned, and still needs alot of work, i havent had very much painting experience lately so it seems kind of forced. anyway some crit would be appretiated and i can't wait to see what you come up with, take your time, im not to picky on when it needs to be done ya know. let me know when to post a new thread for the judging.
it turned out a lot better than what I was expecting from your sketch Lininger. I think it's pretty dang good already, but you need to tweak your saturation levels. Everything seems pretty washed out, like where the form turns it's only going to gray/black instead of other colors that could influence them.
One trick I like to use is taking a texture overlay on top of the image and tweaking the colors a bit, it really helps to pull together color schemes I think.
Also, I would lose the black framing as well as the signature, as they really don't add anything to the image.
here's how the image looked with one of my textures dropped over the top of it and tweaked more towards a brown/orangy color.
Oh boy, texture overlays... take it easy with those, they can get out of hand. If you can't define your forms and color well enough with the brush, a texture is just a cover-up, and an obvious one. I agree with B-nine on the border though, they usually get in the way and confuse things.
Two things I would suggest, compositionally:
1) Either get rid of or at least make relevant the huge, eye-catching, distracting explosion in the lower left. The action is already happening in the foreground, it seems superfluous to have something dramatic happening in the background to draw your eye away from the characters.
2) The left foot of your robot in the foreground is too close to the edge. Either send it off the artboard or bring it closer to the center when you're composing, otherwise it leads your eye straight to the edge of the page, and it makes the foot look like it was squished in so it would fit.
Other than that, it's an incredibly dynamic image. I especially like the hair exploding away from the head. Gross! Dunno about medieval rollerblading, but I bet if they'd had it, they'd have used it in battle.
My two cents...

... and here's my reposte...
Oh yeah, and you don't need to make a new thread for the judging. Just add "Ready for Judging" at the end of the title of this thread.
Niice. You both rock my socks! Lookin' forward to Lininger's final, he's at school workin' on it now, so shouldn't be long.
I love the way you developed hands and the arm workings with the musket rifles on my character, very nice, gosh i hope i stand a chance. so when you wanna make this thing due by? we could end it tonight at 12 tonight for the final judging if you wish. whaterever works for you, im just so happy i got to participate, i can feel the joy for painting begining to grow in me!
I'm all done, so you can set the deadline to your liking.
but i suppose we're never really finished, but here is my final piece. thx for the crit by the way!
