Flowers are glowing! =)
Never been good with traditional media, except simple pencil. Glad to see you practicin art.
You will love your pastels This is pretty handy technique.
Lines, and colors in your latest works looks good - keep it up!
Hello! Long time no seen. Well, there has been lot going around. After fighting with schizophreni for two years I'm finally back. In autumn I'm going to study mathematics! But all this time I have a little dream in my heart, in future to go art school that is in Estonia(where I live) and there you can study ANIMATION!! I hope I will learn to organize my time, so I will have time to concentrate on art.
Yesterday I did a few sketches. In my mind I am animating and drawing.... but it's hard to get it on paper.. Well we will see..
fun stuff, keep it up, flowers do look really nice
Thanks for the crits! I like your Bridgman copies. I need to get the pdfs of his book(s).
It's been a long time since I've frequented this site, but I seem to remember the aspiring animators doing lots of animal gestures. Is there a zoo or maybe farm near you? Check it out!
Regarding the flowers, they are 3D objects just like a ball or an egg. There is a paintover thread I found recently that has a short tutorial about how light interacts with 3D objects. Maybe look around for it! I would be surprised if the same lesson wasn't also in one of Bridgman's books!
Good luck and keep drawing!
It’s been a long time, I can see that you like to disappear from time to time, then
you reappear with full force, much more stronger than before, which is good of
course. Since you were gone, many things changed and the bathroom floor got a
bit wet and slippery, but nothing that we should worry about. Sorry to hear that you
have been struggling with mental disorders, I hope that you are feeling better lately,
if there is anything that I can do to help, please note me. I am happy that you are
back and that you are more motivated than ever, I just wish you to keep on going
this way, keep up the good spirit, the positive thinking and good things will
surely happen to you and to your environment.
Thank you LtPlissken, I'm really thankful for the kind words. And I feel more motivated and I alive than never before. I have school and other stuff, but I also have tablet and I love my tablet. Here is a little picture of it's progress.. have some ideas what to do... also it's in the beginning stage but hoping to make it as realistic as possible.
That’s a good first step to block in shapes, now you should decide where does
your light source is coming from, and according to that you should put
the highlights and shades on these animals. Also look up for some fur
materials and try to imitate it, try to do some fur studies.
LtPlissken thank you for the tips... I'll do that
So I came to this idea to draw my wolves as fire and ice elements. Did some practise. But since I was away three days from campus and my tablet I decided to do free lineart commissions for people. Did 7sketches of their characters plus one lineart is done plus I have more than 12artists on my list. (poses are referenced)
I discovered some of my old drawings... thought it would be fun to add some(the girl with green eyes).
I must say... school is taking much time from me... so I have only little for art :/

very bad advice->
forget the studies, all you have to do is avoid the last way you were drawing and its always better, then you dont have to work off any reference till you die.
i kept running in to your avatar. your creatures feel magical.
The last one looks colorful and magical, but still the flatness is there, no sharp
or soft edges, and what about the light source? Also you should think
about shapes, each and every individual part of these beasts, shade
and highlight them according to the light source. I would suggest
doing simpler subjects in greyscale. Sometimes you have to go back
so you could improve. Two steps forward, one step back.
