Hi there! My name is Annie and I'm a college freshman studying Animation/Illustration. "Shoebox" is a pun on my surname.
As I'm a first year student, I am in foundation classes. I'll be posting my classworks, assignments, and of course, pages from my sketchbook! Hopefully I'll have time to do some personal art, but I think I should focus more on studying from life first. I hope you'll help me out with my art by giving constructive criticism. I really appreciate it and I won't at all be offended!
Here we go!
Negative shapes still life in ink
Charcoal outline of my shoe with emphasis on varying line weight
3-4 greytone markers on toned cardstock and white gouache for highlights. Value studies.
10 more value studies, all in gouache. Frustrating medium!
hi! really nice studys, id like to some human figures! keep posting!
Thanks both of you! And yes, I really need to work on my humans and anatomy.
A shoelace wrapped around my foot in charcoal, emphasis on varying line weight.
Line weight is great, good that you're focusing on that. I need to do the same
Value studies of skulls in class, around 10-25 minutes each, in black & white gouache. You can really see the improvement haha!
