these are a few oil paintings i did this last months inspired in Shawn Barber's tatooed paintings.
I used photo reference of Masuimi Max, Twlwy and Amina Munster... and the last one is a reproduction of Shawn Barber's Kat Von D portrait.... i really liked that painting...
they are all oils on canvas... the big ones are 100x70cm and the small ones 60x50cm.
I really like the first one but the chick with the white hair looks a little creepy lol. I love the sorce of light on the first one though. She looks really whimsical i just wish the background was a little more fluid
The first: Excellent rendition of her right hand, over the breast. The lines, "wrinkles", and the knuckles are perfectly placed. Veins and lighting too. Well done.
The second: This is my favorite. My eye goes straight to her eye, when I glance at this painting. The eye/nose/lips are wonderfully painted, and the hand that rests on her face. This is beautiful. Maybe this is a strange detail to compliment, but the eyebrow on this one, and the eyebrows on all the others, they are painted very well. They look very real to me.
Dead Men Tell No Tales Girl: Nice pose. I want to say that the right arm/arm pit could use a little more shading to give it depth, but it does not stand out unless you stare. The other arm is shaded nicely, though. I love the tattoo there, the devil with the microphone. That's funny.
White Haired Woman: Frightens me. I think it is her mouth, something about it. I like the nose, though, and the shading of the tattoo/breast is very good.
Six Arms Girl: I love all the arms. Cool!
I enjoyed these. The tattoos are also fun to look at, seeing what they are in each work. They must have been difficult to paint. In the last one, I like how you can see more of the tattoos when they "change" with the different arm positions.
