I am in love with your doodlings! Hehe I hope I wasn't too emotional ;D
Keep it up dude!
Jonny boy! impressing the chaps with your lady lovin' skills? mmmhmmm I'm impressed, thought about colours on those nifty designs?
Arteater: Cheers, I've got to do more enviros I think. I keep forgetting stuff I learn lol
Psantha: Thanks! I'm glad you like em, theyre really fun to do
Coinpurse: Hiya matey! Cheers bro, I might put some colour on soon yeah The whole idea of doing these lines was to prevent myself from being a render . Hope you're ok man, what you upto these days?
Eerin: Cheers, I read your post and realised I hadn't posted my chow entry which has two sexy females....and one evil bastard ¬____¬. Hope you like
Algenpfleger: Dude, I am in awe of your progress man. Respect!
Heres this week's ChoW. I went for MrFreeze, Poison Ivy and the sexiest villian in history, Catwoman.
And if anyones interested, I thought I'd attach the fullres version too.
I wrote some stuff for em too:
Pamela Lillian Isley was a promising student studying plant biology at University, during which time she became politically radicalised into an extreme environmental activist movement. The further she fell into the philosophies of the group, the more she believed that humans were simply a virus on mother nature. This led her to her calling: to systematically and via any means neccessary, bring down the human population. She became a sole terrorist and uses nature's own poisonous spores to calmly and cleanly wipe out the masses.
Victor Fries worked for the US goverment's experimental sciences division developing military technologies. His personal and most praised work was his research into land sub-temperature warfare which cooled the blood of a soldier whilst maintaining superior performance. However whilst on the prototype mission in Siberia, Fries was betrayed by his closest colleagues who stole his formula to be sold to the Russian military. They left him for dead. In a last ditch effort to survive, he took every last drop of the formula he could. It lowered his body temperature beyond freezing. Any warmth would kill him. He scavenged for parts, built an aluminium heatsink, and grafted it onto his chest whos function was to suck heat straight out of his heart. He remains twisted, and desires nothing but destruction of the powers that did this to him.
Selina Kyle was one of the worlds most popular haute couture models who was seen on Bruce Wayne's arm on many occasions. She loved the high life and all the perks that came with it. However on one night, Selina was harrassed by hundreds of paprazzi hoping to get a shot of her drunk whilst leaving her favourite bar. Disorentated, Selina ran as fast as she could away from the crazed photographers, straight into arms of Victor Zsazs. She fought as hard as she could, but Zsazs' knife cut her face many times. Her bodyguards found her and the coward Zsazs got away before he had the chance to kill her. Her life however, was ruined. Facially scarred, she lost everything. Desperate for her lost riches, she became a theif of Gotham's most prized possessions.
Great concepts for Batman villains, but I don't like the Catwoman origin. It's a little on the fantastical side (Nolan would never oblige!). And Catwoman is supposed to be a beautiful character, not physically scarred. I think the "scarring" theme has been done already in the latest films ala Joker and Two-Face.
I do like the Russian background you gave to Victor Fries though.
I know I should comment on your illustrations, but they're great already. It's just the character origins need some critiquing.
Batman geek sounding off.
too cool Jon, great sketches and chow, the guy lookz rly badass!
Awesome! I love the catwoman design, Just love the material she is wearing. All she needs now is some baby oil
I have to admit though I think Ivy is the weakest character of the set, her legs and pose feel a bit awkard, other than that great work!
Great to meet you again on sat! That line framing/construction thing has really helped alot for setting up sketches. Because I have planned out the planes and other details it's much easier to render away. Ill try and scan some things at some point.
Oh btw what was that 3D program again? Ive forgotten already It is free right?
You ought to post some of those bristol board sketches, they were lush!
Bubbagump: Cheers mate. Good crit that. You're right about the scarring theme
Diego: Thanks matey Hope you're well
Rich: How do sunshine. Good to see ya! Cheers man. The program is 3dsMAX. Get hold of it and look at how to render something photoreal, and it'll seep into your work. I might post the bristol sketches I dont think I'm good enough wi the ol' pencil at the mo.
Morning warm-up, i think this guy's a runner.

Hey, great work in here! Your environments and characters are quite amazing, really nice look to all of them. Love the looseness as well; keeps alot of great gesture and mark making. Nothing to crit really, just wanted to stop in and show some support Great color in this last one; really gives off a nice creepy vibe Keep up the great work!
edit: Oh and really quickly just wanted to say I love the 2 characters you have as your thumbnail right now; really cool stylized look and those expressions are wonderful

just finished flipping through, love your stuff man especially the line sketches but that's just cuz i'm a fool for line and they resonate with me more than the fully rendered stuff. good luck with the Chow it's fabulous
