Sooo, my names Eric.
I've got about a year till I have to apply to colleges and I would like to improve as much as possible before that happens.
I like critiques, I like them a lot, feel free to say whatever's wrong- Knowing how to correct it would be a plus.

Hey, this is a pretty snazzy start to a sketchbook, I like your style. Your cross-hatching is really nice too. I guess what I would say off the bat is, don't be afraid to go darker in some of your drawings/play more with values. I know you mentioned your scanner makes the brightness way up/does weird things to contrast etc. you would probably be able to adjust that in levels.
Welcome to CA!
[I had to delete my second comment and re-post it because the images from the old one didn't leave.]
I have about a years worth of saved sketchbook images but I don't see the point of judging work from 10 months back compared to recent stuff so my first post is going to be small...
Also, does anyone know how I can correct color balances in photoshop? When ever I scan something the image comes up more saturated/brighter than it actually is since my scanner shines a light when it scans.
I'm done dumping a sort of overview of what I can do. I'm going to go to sleep/stare at my phone/judge what I just posted now.
The images are coming up as text instead of actual images now, I'm confused.

My threads settled now so I can actually leave
That's what I'm told a lot but I feel like it's a lot harder to do that in traditional media than it is in digital where everything can be controlled more easily.Hey, this is a pretty snazzy start to a sketchbook, I like your style. Glad to be here and meet you, thanks for the advice!
I guess that depends on how familiar you are with certain medias, the 'undo' button with digital media is a plus though! I like working with values in graphite quite bit(even though I'm not fab with them yet). All in all, I'm really looking forward to seeing how your sketchbook progresses.
The bird house was done in about 10 minutes while I was at a barbecue I didn't want to be at, and the two figure studies were about one hour; I'm a little sad about the quality of the figure studies when I actually think about how much could have been done in an hour.
A WIP to be done later in oil. I would like critiques on this, it was intended that she would be singing but I don't think that's implied very well, along with that the whole drawing was supposed to be soothing/flowy so the hair will be done better in the final painting.
just two regular drawings and a request from my friend who plays DOTA
The size I adjust them to on photoshop doesnt match the size it comes up as on the website. I'll figure out how to fix that later
