I wish you were identifying these in some way... even numbers, or something, would help to make specific comments. These are uneven in quality and appeal (IMO), so being able to specify by title or number might help people out a bit.
Anyhow, the ones that do jump out at me:
- the first image...
- the man w/ goatee and hat...
- the man smoking...
Thanks Blue and Billy!!
This is at the early stages.
It's acrylic on a 9 x 12 inch cotton stretched canvas. A little smaller than I'm used to working but fun none the less, great to get back to analogue!!
A few hours later:
Here is where I'll leave it for today..still some work to be done...try and get some detail into the skin..pores and blemishes.. etc!!
To dark, rainy and overcast to work on the above acrylic painting, so did a speed paint for a possible oil painting!!
Yes Dip....I have Painter 10....I used that before photoshop...but I want to get to know PS a little better!!
SpeedPaint..painter 10 mins:
I need to practice more with pencils...it's been such a long time since I used them...need to use them more.
Anyway, this is A4 sketchbook doodle:
Really like the big face done in acrylic on the 9 x 12 canvas, nice contrast and detail. Try some heads at more extreme angles; test how well you know the form. Anywhere you see problems pick up a book by Bridgman or Loomis and find out how all the anatomy works.
Tweaked this a little as the eye on the left was bothering me....I hope I've improved it!!
(Change of colour due to photographing @ night)
I'm likin' Mr. Blue, and woot for pencilz
Look, see! Nifty art! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=99803
Hey! Check out my blog here
A4 Sketch Book and a Ballpoint Pen!!
Here is the above sketch after I took it into photoshop and did a little digi painting:
Pushed it even further in PS.....
Thanks Henning....I appreciate that!!
First for 2008

Thanks Broken and Chalk!!
Here is another I've done in this style:
Pencil Head Study:
Glad to see another trad person trying this digital thing! Great progress here in that department
Latest Drawing, pastel pencil on acrylic primed watercolour paper. Some of the more subtle tonal transitions are have been lost in this photo.
Title: Tonal Study
Size: 2200 x 3000 PPI
Medium and Support: Corel Painter IX (Blender brush, oily palette knife, basic tinting and Just add water brushes)
Still working with tonal block ins and basically finding my way around value.
Another quick speedy....based on a drawing from Aztecfireflower's figure collection.
I think I'll work on this further and smooth things out a little, try and get the value transitions working better.
