"Hello, I want to thank Naomi-Parkes for posting her awesome tree bark picture because with my study lately, I was like, I gotta try something with texture to push myself further in my practice.. and viola! you posted it.. perfect picture!!
I have been working very hard on it for last few days and learned a lot by doing it. Thank you again! It's a honor and here's the original size, feel free to use it.
Also here's WIP so you can see how I do it. Any critiques are welcome, I'm trying to achieve photorealism feeling here with a bit of colorful touch... I think I still have a long way to go, but this is my best piece of all so it's good for me to see! Let's celebrate! Woohoo!
After my long study, I just had to do a speedpainting to see if my study is helping and apparently it does.
Good night.. zzz
Here's mine, I bet it was only 30 min sketch or so... have so much commissions to do, but I had to give this a try out since I always suck with mech stuff.
My main focus was the composition which I feel satisfied with. Made with Photoshop.
You certainly have improved while i was away!
Your traditional work seems even more steady, and at the same time creative, fun curvy lines and dots
Your digital work seems to have found its balance a bit more too.
Keep at it!!
BlackDelphin: Thank you first of all for dropping by and for your beautiful compliment! It really touched me! ^^
Here's my update. One with columns/totems are for DSG and Portrait is for WDELL thread study. Woohoo, getting better at details! ^^ Psst, I developed my very first real signature, what do you think?
Thank you CA for everything!
You worked hard and got better, i am here to appreciate that
And here i am again!
I saw this in the drew from what do you look like thread, and i gotta say, i didn't know who did this but i really, really liked it!! Your work shows more confidence and personal touch. So don't stop now!!! Keep them coming!!
This dude here has a really nice, defined light source!!!!
And perhaps try flipping him. He looks like he could use some resizing, like everything is a bit thinned out.. nothing else to critique about that heh got picky
So once again, MOWRRR *cheer**cheer*
BRANDONJONES: Thank you so much! I'll definitely post more! Watch outttt! haha
BlackDelphin: Thank you so much for your critique! I agree with you that he looks a bit sketched out, I don't know what I did wrong though! lol! Oh well, practicing makes perfect right eh? So thta's what I'll be doing and definitely will post moreeeee! Thanks again!
Here's more updates! Got my 2 Bridgemen's books so now I'll start studying anatomy! A lot of those are DSG sketches, from imagination. ;P
After this, blah, I realized how bad I am at anatomy here... so therefore, I started my Bridgemen's study!
SWEET! your bridgmans are here, and you started posting now! more, more
about wat you may have done wrong..i think it's because you went really small with the brush when blending; try to work in big blocks, but you got to draw a lot to see those blocks (working on it too )
so lets do our best together, shall we!?!?!!!
Long time no update.. long story, but for now, here's other update from WDELL thread, this time from Black Spot's post #1626
