yo man, love all the updates! the red and black work is very cool, very eye catching. i would love to see those panels painted by someone like Kent Williams, or Phil Hale. would look insane.
NickyBeats- cool man thanks
Cool work and those reds are powerful! Lots of compositional thought here that is so good! I couldn't agree more with you thought to a poster re: getting the basics down. I wonder if that ever really ends!
the blog will not leave me be: http://www.kevinwuesteart.blogspot.com
kevinwueste- right on man- yea ... i think if it ever does end then so do you...no change = death.
a la bapsi- thanks man for sharing that. that was cool of you. I appreciate your words.
Man your work is so great. It has the one quality which I absolutely love in the best of sketchbooks. There's imagination in there, there's life and expression.
A true pleasure to look through your book.
Keep us updated, take care and thank you for inspiring
model : Zeravla
here are some hits for that succubus idea ive been trying to work thru. I asked the model to let me use her likeness as reference and she was kind enough to give the green light.
The character is a impish woman-or succubus character. Beautiful female long limbed features with tail and horns ...perhaps even suggestions of some membranous wings or something.
as i was going thru some sketches...i overlayed the models' tattoos on one of them for texture and they produced a cool effect.

thats freaky man. it reminds me of one of those illustrations in those old "Scary Stories" books. did you ever have those? haha, ahh the good ol' days! also reminded me of Carlos Huante's stuff, with those saturated skin colors. sick!
maeshanne- thank you much!!
Krato- right on ))))))))- definitely feels like a statement raging inside to come out- when i create stuff
NickyBeats-scary story books? hmm i dont know ...haha now ive got to google that to see what ur talking about. The one book that used to freak me out as a kid was " where the wild things are " i know..... a classic- but those drawings freaked me out..lol...
its one of my favorite books tho now....go figure...
whoa that last ones crazy!
-the actual name of the books i mentioned before is "Scary Stories to tell in the dark". here is a couple illustrations from it that i found online....check em out, very creepy.
..those books scared the shit out of me when i was like 8. probably would still scare the shit out of me, seeing these pics again!
NickyBeats- tiight dude - imma go check em out
Yor - right on man- yea there are a couple more sketches that im reworking in that series...ill get them posted soon...
You have some awesome stuff going on here! I usually tell folks to start doing stuff via use of shapes, but in your case the line is so integral to your style that such a crit won't apply.
Definitely want to see more!
Morgado- thanks for the feedback !
Your skills are wicked man!The motion, the mood, the style...Everything is perfect here!Great, strong lines!I am really sad that this thread is only 12 pages,I could watch your artwork all day long!

Thujon- man that is awesome ! thanks for sharing that . And and thanks for passing thru!
DSmith- hmm...formula huh- i know that i like to see alot of atmosphere in my rendered work...if i use pencil - i will definitely smudge alot and erase things partially to give the illusion of depth.
the same goes for the digital stuff....
foreground middleground and background- if u can communicate that then the mood comes in by itself.
a sketch i did for a friend of mine
" RIDIN .."
I had done this a while back when i was doing those snail sketches- kinda childrens story-ish.
always like the mood of the sketch....just never finished it
did this for a skateboard company back in 03 -
back when i was doing this type of art
pencil sketch- blue underlay
all sorts of tech issues going on with it- still dug the idea- its funny looking back on work done so long ago....i can still remember where i was struggling to conceptualize certain shape placement / line weight/ - anatomy constuction...trippy
