You could really lay off the bright values in this picture. Most of your values are in a high key of the value scale (meaning greyish white, to pure white) when in fact most of the body will be in the middle key of the value scale (darkish grey to a greysih white). So to better see what I mean, take your ref image and turn it into greyscale, and compare your values to the ref pics values. You will instantly see what I mean. Highlights should only be used sparingly, only at key points where the form peaks. So Go ahead and do the greyscale thing I told you, and paint from that, because it seems you are painting from the color version, and you are not yet able to distinguish how color coresponds to value.
but other than that, it's not half bad. Keep at it!
