Jesus Christ! that is an unbelievable dump. this thread is so bookmarked...
no crits from me as well. I'll just try and get where you are as well. artistically.
can't even pick a favorite.
your rendering in pencil and digi are great.
All right, new sb. So I now realize you are pretty much exactly one year older than me. Tough shit! Inspiring shit! I'll have to study like an arse. My plan after art-school is to live as cheap as possible, and do nthing but drawing and painting. We'll see how that works out in the future. In the meantime, keep on inspiring me! And probably loads of people too, but I think we both can aggree that I am the most important one..
Dame, your young, I would draw right now but, my stomach is full, I love your new sketchbook, keep up the great work, wow, your just 20, your young, I cant wait to next month, I will be 19.
Look, Iam diet drama, want to spend tha night dont bring pajamas, man there's so much heat beneath clothes, you see me !
JesArt Sketchbook, go have a gander..
killer stuff dood
awesome shit dude. You're fuckin pro!
like really, you could get a job with that shit.
Really great stuff you got here... I just wanted to point out one thing I noticed. It is in the painting of the city (2nd from bottom). I guess it is one of your older pieces so it might be pointless to point this out but figured I would just incase you care.
The main light source seems to be coming from the top left but the shadows cast from the buildings make it appear the main light source is on the right. Perhaps it is just an illusion but I thought I mine as well point it out.
Really great stuff and look forward to seeing more!
"Art is the proper task of life. "
nice dude, great SB!!!!!
pld: NEED CRITIQUE! But BEWARE your Eyes might BLEED OUT of YOUR eye SOCKETS <---cause I really suck and haven't done shit pld:
My Sketch Book!
I'm glad you post so many self portraits. This will help me identify you at 900 yards.
Kidding. 5 stars, damn you.
Nice start to your sketchbook. You have a good handle on the digipaint. Like the creature with a mouth harness. Interesting mix of color.
The SP's are really sensitive. Can feel your personality. You add life through the eyes. Your oil pieces are the candy in this book.
May see you at Watts, as money and time permits I will be going to Erik Gists' Saturday class at some point.
Fill this SB up!

Give me some love! JARheads SKETCHBOOK of DOOM!
The second one is great. And there is much other stuff here that makes up for the nice start.
Keep focus and post more! =)
holeee crap, this is some nice stuff. I kneel to you good sir.
you've got a great eye, and i think your observational stuff is strong. you also have a good grasp of the technical execution. i think if i were to offer you any advice id sugest you draw as much as possible, and dont worry so much about rendering, its obvious you can do that. but i think the more you draw the more accurate everything gets, including your rendering of forms and volumes. your non referenced stuff is defintiely not as strong as your representational and referenced stuff. i know it seems like general advice, but try to pay close attention to what you are doing when working form photos or life. this will carry over to your non referenced stuff if you make an effort to port it. the only thing you aint got right now is mileage. your have the talent..but you need some solid drawing time to really bring your full potential out. keep doing what you are doing, and work hard, and you will have no problem doing art for a living. you are from cruces, eh? thats fucking crazy. i used to get out that way quite a bit back in the day. what area of art are you hoping to pursue or specialize in, commercial or fine art?-c36
great collection of work! i'll second everything coro just said, thats pretty much what i was thinking as i scrolled through all the work.
keep it up man, looking forward to seeing more work down the line!
your self portraits (inc your avatar) have always been a joy to view. the portrait of your girlfriend is also quite beautiful - im guessing she is happy with it? hope all is well with you, mate, please update soon
hey Skiff, nice start!
keep it up!
Very nice work, love the life that all of your work has...
Way to go i really like this, ill keep an eye in here.
I dig the character designs, very interesting indeed, makes you wanna keep looking at them, very nice compositions and versatility, the environments are coming nicely too, keep it up
So much 'kickass stuff'! Your oils are very realistic and full of vibration.
Must have been hard to draw the self portrait with closed eyes? :]
Any how, you rocks.
amazing work man! u got great skills regarding doing refed drawings and paintings. nothing more to say what coro didn´t already tell. i might only add that if you would doing fine art i would already buying it , you just might choose some more interestign subjects u know, something new or maybe ventured?
anyways high faive book. hey and it´s been almost 2 weeks since ur last post don´t tell me you´re preparing the next überupload bump and appear like this
aviable for fulltime and freelance
Wow you guys are awesome. Lot's of replies:
Zord: thanks man! Yeah I was too lazy to think up of something cool, and everything I did think up of sounded stupid.
monotony: wow thanks man, i'm glad you like!
Anurizm: thanks man, glad you could stop by.
Sarcophagus: Cool man, yeah practice is the way to go. Gotta keep that pencil movin!
JesArt: I wish I was younger. I don't want to get old. haha. Have a happy birthday!
Kicek: thanks bro, back at you!
aesir: Haha I wish! well actually I did get a freelance job from a company after I did that post...if that counts for anything. hah
dadushin: thanks man, Solvent? well I use the mineral spirits for a quick wash, and I use gamblin galkyd to paint with. But I don't even know if thats good stuff, or if it should even be used at all. I'm not well versed with my oil process yet.
saa: thanks! it's cool that you've been watching my progress, hopefully I won't bore you. haha.
LifeWontWait: Thanks man, actually the light source on the left is like the city lights and that was just some smoke rising up with the city lights reflecting on it ( i imagined there to be more city and buildings on the left side, out of the picture) The real light source is coming from the top right, where I imagined there to be a moon, since it's a night scene. It's just out of the picture. haha sorry if it looks confusing, it's def something I need to think about.
RaistlinTheDark: thanks man!
Atlantis: haha yeah It's funny that an ugly person would want to draw them self so much.
AztcFireFlower: thanks a lot! I'm glad you like the oils, since yours blown mine out of the water. Yes hopefully I will get to meet you at watts, hopefully i'll still be going. I need to get money first....bah.
hurricane: thanks bjorn! You keep on rocking as well, your new stuff is great.
JARhead: THanks man glad you dig.
joaKimArt: thanks! staying focused.
Goog: and I knight you. hah thanks man
el coro: Thanks again for the great pointers coro, I'm definately taking it to heart. I sent you a PM answering your question.
wesburt: wow first coro, and now wesburt? I have to admit my fanboyism. haha. You guys made me want to get serious about drawing in the first place. Im thrilled you like, don't be a stranger now.
Woops I acceidently hit "enter" Update coming up right now...

great work man... i recognized that some of your traditional paintings here are from your old SB, but much of your new work is digital... are you making a switch to photoshop/painter or are you still working the traditional paints as well?
atta boy...keep drawing. your characters are lookin pretty good...
id rethink aspects of the first guys pose, its a little akward and it looks a little liek his extended hand is on backwards...the last guys feet are a bit funny too, id play around a bit more with grounding him on a plane. the 1st reffed one is good too. keep drawing dude. pay attention and concentrate on what you are doin when you do....keep it up.-c36
