A lovely series of characters in here, as if caught mid action rather than posed for a camera. The last woman although not in the most original of post apocalyptic, fantasy garb, (breach clout, and strapped chest) has a most unusual pose, mid draw of a short sword ready to kick off, adds a new self assured facet to her that reclothing her never could. The distinct use of reflected light to mute the colours creates a wonderful array of tones that also increases the attractiveness of your personal style.
Hope to see more
the last character is awesommeE!!!
"We are the music makers... and we are the dreamers of dreams."
You're recent updates have been really nice! I just realized that your paintings reminds me of Rodin's sculptures. Both have got a real physical quality to them, as if they are pieced together using clay or metal. However, I think it wouldn't hurt to make some areas softer--like hair, shadowed areas, and less important areas; the contrast could be real eye candy.
I'm starting to realize it now, though! Or rather, I've been practicing, and thus become a bit better, which in turn makes the world a better place, or something like that. Looking forward to you getting back to Norway whenever that was!

Areit folks, I am going over to Falmouth, but I will be back in 2 weeks or so, and with some luck, I may be able to leech onto the internett from some open netwrk somewhere, we will have to see
The last one is pretty sweet! but you should check her left arm, it seems abnormally long, especially as it seems to slightly point towards the viewer so the perspective should shorten it even more.
But apart from that i love it.
second sheath for the second weapon might be nice though
keep up the good work!
I should have and would have updated sooner, but I just now found a place where I can borrow a net. This is a cozy little bar by the quay, and even though the coffee is nothing spectacular, the music is alright. I have been a little guilt ridden all summer for not working on my digi and oil stuff as much as the pencils, but then again, it should be pretty good when I get all that stuff scanned
Here is a little guy I got together. About an hour worth of sketching i suppose. I got to get more effective. But anyhoot, enjoy.
Pnyx: Thanks, i think you may be right^^
hey thanks for comin by my sb, means a lot to hear from someone so good i gotta say, your finished stuff is great, but the style in your wips is really unique and awesome, like how you defined the leg to the right in the last post.
also, cool trick for keeping your sketchbook link at the most recent page... &page=999999 in the link.. very clever
Technically I don't have much to crit on the last painting, it looks good.
But she's staring at something and we don't know what, it can be her opponent she's finishing off, preparing for an attacking enemy. Because I don't know what she's looking at, the look she's got in her eyes gives me the impression that she's staring in thoughts.. Though if she's looking at her victim, my random thoughts will lose their meaning.
I'm curious on how the painting will evolve if you take it further, perhaps that using a bit more contrast in values or some more shadows can help giving the painting more sense of drama.
But it's looking good, no doubt about that!
Keep it up!
Feel free to visit my sketchbook
looking good man d: I think the light color you have in the sky, the one by her head, look nice. maby spred that out some more. try to get a lighter background also. to bring her out some more
I would make the background lighter to bring out the figure.
I really love this guy's face and nose. Is he injured? I'm guessing so, by the awkward way he's got his arm up by his shoulder...
If you do work more on the last one, I would suggest getting away from the pink skin tones - she looks very sunburned! You do seem a bit lost as to where you're taking the image. Like you said, take a break from it and see if you can come back with some better ideas for it - maybe crop some of the bottom off and add bg on the left to create a focus, or lengthen the canvas vertically to show us what she's facing.
I spent some time seeing all your sketchbook and I can say your progress is amazing!
You came out as a good aspiring student to become a badass wicked artist!!!
Awesome job man!!!
Keep practicing dude, you have potential!
