Oh man I hate using charcoal. I love the high contrast and dark, dark...but the mess it makes.
I'm not sure what's going on here in this one drawing. Is that hair on top of cloth or hay?
Keep focusing on your art and hopefully the bad crowd at your school won't bother you. Be sure to carry a can of pepper spray if they do : ) It's good your professors make it worth while.
Finally Iv gotten 5 minutes to upload some stuff heres a small portion of stuff if worked on the past few weeks
Thanks for the reply Pigeonkill yeah every things sorted itself out now ..but im leaving this school soon so on all of them.
Lets see some sketches on anatomy, museum studies, compositional studies and what have you
a complete re arrange of an Escher piece
Negative and positive studies, and one with a different keytone in B/W
Some 3D stuff....i hate most3d unless its on a comp
Funny how I'm at an art school and iv only got to spend 1 hour in a figure drawing session...anyone else find something wrong with that??????
And self portrait work their in order soo look for progress
thats the show for now.....
I like how your strokes in your pencil work have a lot of energy. It reminds me of one of my favorite music videos. Hope it gives you inspiration:
My only other suggestion on your portraits is that some of your eyes a bit stylized. They seem to be missing the upper an lower lid?
Pigeonkill Thank you. I don't know about energy though some of the gesture pieces have good strokes but my longer pieces all are way to systematic and i really hate it. and yeah the eyes I have a good amount of trouble with eyes the upper lid thing well my eyes are really deep set and you cant see the upper lid at all Ill post a picture next reply .
Thanks Shadow how about that class huuu good stuff!!

I Back Pigeonkill, And pijus what happened to your name, and no artschool didn't effect me not positively anyway. but Im done with that place and hopefully attending TAD in a year or 2.
And in other news iv got a new SSG starting up!!
Hers a bigger and better picture of my drawing final
And Oil paintings
The one below is done. its my first
Heres the setup for my next its got to be drawn perfectly proportional this time with an object touching each of the sides but not going over
I never painted with too much oils. I used water water soluble ones before, they are nice. Easier for clean up and less chemicals. One techique that was taught to me was painting a thin coat of burn sierra or burnt umber on the canvas and then wipe away the high lights with cloth. So you end up using less paint. I assume it be done with normal oils or any other color.
The car perspective is looking to me. I think the TAD is nice but also some mix reviews.
Sorry for the delay I gots a new painting computer so I had to download all my software and a friend had my photoshop disks so it took a while to get emm back.
here we go big dump.
Heres some still lifes done in painter because no photoshop..i dont like painter i never could get my colors true.
Heres some still lifes previously done in photoshop after i did the small can one i re thought the approch and looked at how Hanns and Jan do theirs and tryed the same.
Land Scape Studies
same problem with painter
Faces not easy painter
Heres some Oil Paintings the first is my last still life
it looks kind of dull but the close up shows its colors are really cool
Heres a big painting iv been working on for a while its an ongoing process and im running on little time. Hopefully it sells
If any one wants to see the process shots bigger let me know i have lots of photos of the process.
thats where i am now
and heres what im starting on while finishing the other master study
Thanks for the comment on my sketchbook. I'm so impressed with all of the improvement you have made! Keep it up!
Here's my sketchbook!
Hey Demo! Thanks for posting a comment on my sb.
Sweet sketches. I particularly like the architecture/perspective stuff. Your Sketch up work looks nice, too. I need to learn that myself. The still life master study is lookin' sweet. Good luck on that.
See ya around!
your improvement is scary, in a good way. "faces not easy painter " thats a kick ass drawing
Your master painting is close, I think in the original they used slightly warmer colors on the cloth.
You've got some good effort going into these studies. Remember to stick with the basics and keep how you think of everything really simple. In your speedpaints of environments I'd really recommend you slow down and really spend a few hours and try to understand whats going on with the light in the pictures. When you first learned how to shade basic spheres im sure you didn't do a whole bunch of really sloppy ones, you have to take the time to understand it first, and then you grind on it. Keep working at it, it'll get easier.
Kvick Thanks for the sound advice. yeah i probably need to spend more time on the enviroments then again the ones l posted I spent a few hours but i went through the process of going back and forth between the painting the colors and the drawing for a couple of hours couldnt really get any thing right. But that just means more practice on all fronts.
PigeonkillYeah I just started so its like 90% not done but ill keep that in mind Piegeon
ModestMouse Thanks Modest I really hate painter right now but its nice to know we find some-sort of peace treaty
DizonThanks Dizon sketchup with a rendering program is really fun to work with as Ferris beuller would say " It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
Blizzard Thanks!! I hope to make more
Lets see Sketch book pages I have a pretty big book here that im going to dedicate to starting some conceptual characters and more studies on bigger paper.
More Portrait work
Heres where im at with my oil Painting
sorry I couldnt get better pics
Blizzard Thanks!! I hope to make more
Heya Demo!! I love how you use so many mediums, and you use them all really well! You have so much going on I don't know what to comment on first! lol It's all great. I really like your oil paintings and renderings.
On the poll I voted anatomy/bone studies because I think that that's what you can benefit from most. I'll stop on by later
I like that you're using a lot of mediums. I would personally work on your line use. Your figures tend to be a little flat.
