i like most the top left one and the gray one in the middle
Edit: also the one in the bottom could work very well as a classic scifi book cover. You know, the one where the space explorers are stranded on a hostile planet, full of predatory vegetation and the explorers try to fend of the dangerous things...
But if you decided to finish the top left. Could you make it so that theres one in the foreground, but i really think it would look cool if there was a swarm of them a little further back.. i think they would look cool in a swarm.. long limbs everywhere.. :3
Edit2: but but dont put too much faith in my opinion. im not really that good yet

Thanks for the comments guys! I'll keep your suggestions in mind for sure
And now, since I don't wanna post something art-less, here is my update for today: I actually did this a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't shown it here so I might as well. C&C Appreciated!!
Your work looks great.
What else have I been up to.. hmm..
The first one is just an hour-long speedie.. the second one is a "thank-you" for reaching 10,000 pageviews on DeviantART. There's lots of anatomy no-nos in that second piece, but honestly it was more an exercise in painting OVER lines instead of under them.
What say you, brigands!!!
Holy crap dudes... it's been a minute since I updated. Figured I might as well resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one.
Tons of work has been put in between then and now, but I'll only show some of the more recent stuff... hopefully I'm improving?
hehe Bartelby Arrow has some interesting costume designs i like the one on the send to the right costume. you definately have some interesting sketches i'm not too fond of some of your photoshop pictures. i think its the anatomy issues on the face. try doing some foundation studies for the face because i think that is one of the things you need to work on.
@ Maerrick: Do you mean the last one in particular, or all of them? I am in that awkward stage between realism and stylization... and I can't decide quite which way I want to go. I will certainly try to do some studies though.. I could certainly do with a better understand of facial forms and structure.
Hey guys, I'm back. I promise I haven't been slacking, I just don't always take the time to jump on CA and upload stuff
Crits would really be appreciated on these ones.. these are for a personal illustration, and one I would like to bring to a "finished" stage. The first one was the first attempt, which started out without a real concept and then was abandoned. The second attempt is what I'm working on now.. some futuristic airship pilot character.
Hey Karyl. She still needs more volume on her rib cage and you rounded her bottom nicely but then her shirt doesn't seem to follow this curve outward. Her right arm is very tubular, something weird is going on with where it connects to her shoulder. Anatomy before renderfest!
Here's today's update... I didn't feel like working on my airship pilot tonight. So I did something else.. I've been looking at William Whitaker's work a lot lately, I am trying to get better at lighting and re-teach myself how to draw/paint faces.
