I used to draw a lot of cartoons when I was young, but in art school as long as you are willing to learn and absorb what the teachers are trying to teach you, you should be ok and learn it. Maybe that's just me though.
If you are thinking this may be a self taught thing, then perhaps copperfire's advice should be taken note. In fact, I second the motion. At your age it would do wonders to start now.
chuck18mp: Thank ya muchly. I appreciate you stopping by ^.^
Alternative: Thanxx haha I know i need much more practice and refinement, and I strive for that, my problem is my lack of time between school and work, plus I'm usually so exhausted by the time i get home i just crash x.x I've heard of bridgman and been interested in his work, i just never got around to tracking down a copy, which i should prolly do.
haha I'll do just that
Liquidspider: Ya, it's natural to want to do cartoons most of the time haha. I've been trying to do more from life, I'm gonna start drawing still lifes a lot more.
I do plan on trying my absolute best to get into an art school or at least a school with a good art program so this definately will not be completely self taught, but yes, i do realize i need to do more from life to improve.
HI GUYS. on friday i went to TAPPS to do on site. TAPPS is the big contest thing in texas and i went for art to draw a still life and have it judged. I didn't place unfortunatly, but that just means i need to practice more and kill it next year haha. We had two hours to draw our still and I think i probably would have placed had i focused on just the skull instead of trying to add more items like i did. I'm posting my still life as well as the tat i did for my friend i said id post.
I love the tattoo style heart. Keep developing, i started to stagnate near your age and i regret it so much. Keep working at it
@inkboy Thanks =) ya im trying haha ive been stagnating lately though xD im just lazy im afraid Im trying though!
SORRY GUYS. Im sorry i died, i have an ongoing internet problem =( I do have a portrait i've been working on that im quite proud of though...it makes me happy heh
....im not quite finished
There's been some serious improvments since the last time I was around here. Your work shows a defined progression all through your sketchbook and I still eagerly await for more.

@ raminafshari: The portriats are sketches I did from a photo reference =)
I did a quickie pose study...thing from posemaniacs today. I really need to work at my understanding of anatomy so im going to try and do these at least once a week from now on
Busy, Busy week this week @_@ but i doodle during class and ill post those haha
i had to take pictures of the drawings because my scanner broke.....

inkboy: i am, you just don't see me o.o
donalfall: I'm glad you like them! i worked hard on those haha, trying to do justice to such influential people
Ive been doing studies! haha i did some life studies and then some doodling. enjoy ;]
It's been so long!!! haha well I'm back because i need to start improving and this place helped me so much before! I'm on a total new track in life, I've been apprenticing to become a tattoo artist for the past year and I'm trying to pick myself out of a lazy slump and go nose to the grindstone so I can be more than just another tattoo artist...anyway I'm going to post some older stuff first and work into the more recent work! thank you all for the great encouragement and critiques up until now
The portrait of the girl in the brown dress was done in 2011 with watercolor, pastels, and colored pencil. The Deer skull was done last september or october right before i quit school with india ink (I'm still proud of that one, and the portrait of the blonde girl was done earlier this year with watercolor, colored pencil, and acrylic for the filigree

Portrait and figure study of Wylonah Hayashi, a friend of mine
It was such a long time ago, it’s really hard to imagine. You see the strange ways of
this life, you never know what to really expect. One day is rainy and another is sunny and beautiful.
Your tattoo journey was meant to continue, no matter for the rusty sandy corridors of time, you
went against the storm and you came out as a victor. I think that you will now turn the heat up,
and post on a regular basis, plus you will do tattoo art on the sudden travelers, and they will
be grateful at the same time. You and I will draw a lot, and we will draw every day. You
are pretty close to skyrocket, your skills are surfacing bravely, so keep on going and
Ha! Fancy arts! Please show me more~!
LtPlissken: Thanks so much, You're so encouraging and I truly appreciate it
untier: I will certainly will try my best!!!
THe Foot tattoo is on me, I drew up the design and had it tattooed

Wow, you are very brave to do that tattoo on yourself. Me, I was always
hesitant about doing any tattoos, so I didn’t, but I give big respect to those who
dare to do so. I think it looks nice and it will look great in summer time when you
appear on the beaches. Your anatomy is pretty good on your last drawings, and you do know
how to draw faces, you don’t skew them and the proportions are all right. I feels great
when I see a girl draw naked females. Good job overall, congrats once more on your new
tattoo. Keep on working and posting, there is a bright future ahead of you.
LtPlissken: Thanks so much! I really enjoy drawing the female form, I get most of my inspiration from women heh
Just a quick post on what I've been doing, I started commission recently so I've been busy with those. I have a portrait I did of my friend Katie, drawn using a graph. A sketch of a lemur, cause lemurs are awesome, and a prismacolor drawing of some cute Halloween things
Damn, nice values in that last portrait! Try and bring some of that knowledge into your other work. The cartoons girls are looking a little flat at times.
