Wow, I just spotted you on DA last night. Small world.
Your Medusa looks beautiful, I love the composition and the colors especially. The feathers and scales really go well together and I really like the sponge texture in the background.
Great lines. Really stupendous. I'd like to see some more dynamic poses though. Just show some more twisting and turning. Really push how interesting you can make a pose.
you've been on a roll Jessi... lovely stuff. I really love how you handle the female form... although I would like to see the men pop up in there a bit more (I need to do that myself, actually...)
Anyhoo, I hope to meet up with you at the workshop.
Absolutely amazing work...you got my vote for CHOW100.
There is an underlying sensuality in all your work, it was a pleasure to view this sketchbook, look forward to seeing more!!
Really great SB, such a pleasure to browse through. I had a question about your process. Are those digital sketches or pen and paper I cant tell, probably because I'm a noob. Really like the Mucha quality to your works in terms of how clean all the drawings look. Your charicters are really expressive, and have great expressions, if that makes sense. Thanks for being awesome but can we have some more please?
SketchBook Chris Yoakum?
i love your medusa jessica
talk about having fun when doing work. i love the way you switch between exageration to real life and one heck of a texture quality to boot.
I LOVE THE STYLE great work hopefully ill reach even close to ur level one day
You're a fantastic character artist. Your wonderful Medusa got my vote, even with the strange tentacles. I love your ornate, precise style even though I usually go for less ornament... you do it so well also all the spirals kick ass.
It was nice to see you break out of your box a little in the farmer CHOW, which you did very successfully (great caricature) and I hope to see more backgrounds and non-human things rendered in your style; but, even if you don't do that, your SB is such a pleasure to go through. I almost feel guilty writing this because it's one more irritating bloc of text people have to scroll through to get to your luscious pictures
Keep on keeping on....
Love it...it's all great! Keep making us look bad (kidding) gotcha as a fav. I'll keep in touch.
You have some really beautiful work and I love the clean lines of your drawing style. Great sketchbook.
I love your girls! But really, update more ^^

wee!!! I'm off for 2-3 days, i come back, you're the queen of CHOW!
I guess you had it coming!!!! BIIIIIIG congrats, keep up drawing those cool chicks!!!!
Congrats again on the chow100!
Well done with the CHOW 100 Medusa, and congratulations
I really do enjoy how your work has evolved(spelling?) over the last couple of months. I do enjoy your line work, very clean and impressive, and your color theory is something too. What has really impressed me was the last painting you did for the CHOW. The figure turns beautifuly from light to dark, great composition, and the nice sexy details ( no panties with the dress, thats so necessary) really made the piece a beautiful work of art.
ars kissing and ego stroking aside, you really have made that transition from a good artist to one of the top creators on this site. Look forward to more amazing work and thank you for sharing.
Thanks muchly for well wishes and such about the chow! Totally stoked about that...

Flipnastywebby - well damn, thank you! I wish I had some deeper reply, but that just made me happy. Cheers!
Much needed update! Went to Revelation in Seattle, and WOW was it awesome. Saw so many things, I think I may still be on visual overload, and I came down with the Seattle Flu. Icky! But I do have some things to show...
My very own Todd Lockwood sketch
Some doodles from my new Molskine
From my failed LMS (I scrapped this and went in a completely new direction, I'll post that as soon as Cody lets us also wish me luck, I have some SERIOUS competition in my match, number 7)... Some sketches and color studies, etc. I loved the drawing, I hated the painting... all 378,942 times I did it.

great work as always babe!
Very cool style. Really loving your sketches (the black frog sketch looks really good).
Congrats on Medusa. Lighting on legs was nice. And dig the nice juicy hips/butt/thighs. Headpiece was a great way to bring original touch to the often done character, and gave silhouette interest also. I think Medusa and Minos shows you reaching a new level with your stuff.
Are you trying to build up a body of work of centered characters with circular background? Or is this a crutch? The circle is in your work more often than not. Behind characters head. You disguise it a bit sometimes, like in the squirrel piece it becomes the portal thing. And in the apple gatherer its more subtle as the circular parting of the trees behind his head. The circle works nicely as a bullseye directing viewer to characters face, but is becoming formulaic.
Nice update! Lovely work, great to see your sketches from the workshop too, inspiring stuff Your scrapped LMS entry is fantastic, pity you didn't finish it! But I guess your new one is even better so I'll manage
I still think Burtzum has a point with the circle around the heads. It looks great, don't get me wrong, but it's always healthy to peek out of the comfort zone
First, congrats on the CHOW 100 win. Lovely image and design. Thanks for showing the progress of your first LMS idea. I like looking at WIP and seeing how pieces come along, even ones that are put aside.
