I have been spending a lot of time on construction and getting my brain around sketching things in perspective. Now I really need to take the time to do some studies slowly and accurately rather than my usual messy shorthand way.

i like the shorthand mess there is something about it that captivates me, though messy it seems almost every line belongs right where it is, i say you should stick with the messy drawing style and just add watercolor or some other fluid medium.. your clean works are great as well and i think you have a good shot at selling your work or at least being recognised down the road if your arent already i havent looked up your gallery or anything yet.
kesse - thanks, it is good to know someone likes my scribbles. I haven't been doing much traditional lately so I might get back into that.
Here are a few things done from imagination, they are not that great but it is good to see where my knowledge of things is lacking.
Wow. I actually composed that response before i got down to the last post. I like the gross transparent thing best.
#130 and 131 are *charming*! The texture and loose lines really work for you.
The spaceship is intriguing. Very jellyfish-like and yet not organic. Which feels a bit counterintuitive/funny, but that could maybe be the point? (PS I know nothing about spaceship-design-related things, so disregard as desired!)
Oh yes! And a giant bird is a wonderful getaway vehicle

gekochan - thanks! that is the first spaceship related thing I've ever done so I'll take any feedback I can get.
scanning stuff is a pain... so I won't. I've decided to actually learn anatomy instead of awkwardly faking it all the time. These were done in ink, nibs, and a pointed stick. That cup is my current favourite, I made it too.

I like the page of character thumbnails on post #124. There are some fun costumes in there. And the transparent jellyfish thing in #130 is awesome. I love the sense of humour you put into your art.
The jellyfish spaceship is a cool design, but the painting doesn't look like it's to the scale you've labelled it with. It looks quite little. This is partly due to it being painted almost entirely with big, chunky strokes. Something this big should have, at least implied, a lot of small details. You've got a bit of finer detail in the yellow structure coming out the bottom, and I think that's the strongest part of the painting. You almost have to approach something that big like it's a cityscape. You could even use something like those mirrored sketches from posts #141 and #142, grab bits of that abstract detail and throw it into parts of the ship.
Or you could just change the scale to 1000 cm and call it a day.

0kelvin - while I was working on it I couldn't figure out what makes a isolated object look large or small, but the detail makes a lot of sense now. I'm done with that one but on the next I will have to keep that in mind.
I should photograph some stuff... thought I did but I will update anyways. Lots of anatomy studies coming this way soon.
