Nice life drawings, I see some hands and feet in there! Thanks for the advice on light sources and highlighting, I never really thought about that way.
Quinn Simoes thanks man. i like the progress your making. as for life drawing... it's commin along, i feel like it never ends. HA.
spaceship update. still rather rough.
it's not looking as epic as i want it. I'll probably add more little ships in here too so that i really get the scale i'm going for more visible.
DeJakhalz Thanks. Yeah, i'm still workin up my digital skills. Probably havn't been spending enough time in it as i should be.
what's that? an update?
spaceships and stuffeerrrer
.... ... i really need to rethink some of these designs... they're a little... uh... yeah sorry about that.
cout<mecha thanks for the imput. really just workin out shapes right now. i'm going to add volume to the ones i like. probably gonna hit that up after a couple more pages of doodles
Mattinian yeah i think i've seen some of the stuff from homeworld, i'm really trying to keep the designs uninfluenced right now so i'm limiting the amount of space stuff i look at... which is kinda hard considering i'm kinda a sci-fi nut. Taking inspirations from armor, guns, etc. I guess that's probably what a lot of people do with ship design, oh well.
mini project i been mulling over. did some color then decided i needed to rework the grayscale, so that's what you get.
more figures tomorrow.... hopefully
these ships are the best batch yet. I suggest trying some new things; some more organic or curved forms. Obviously you have to keep a lot of things uniform to push the "tech" aspect but to have one or two fluid elements would make these really strong.
Lake yeah i see what you're getting at. i'll throw that into the next batch for sure.
shitty figure drawings.
not having the best day.
so...yeah cut off some heads here and there
it was a struggle just to get some lines on the page today.
the pencil stuff is really great, keep posting^^
cool spaceship desings, the first 3 to the left are awezome, they look like gloves.
Lotet haha. thanks. yeah those ones were fun, i got more drunk as i got down the page so the lines really did whatever they wanted. ... maybe i should do a glove project next. MAYBE?? actually that's not a half bad idea. sweet!
Lake i agree with you on that one. definitely going to have to explore that shape language more.
what was that about shape language?
here's a page. expect more tomorrow? i think yes
yup here's another page. lookin more like police craft
guess i'm designing for some future military state. overdone idea... bleh
still need to do more, but i'm starting to like some of the forms overall
expect figure drawings tomorrow. wooo~
also workin on getting my blog together. still needs some design elements
Lake glad you like them! And yes, i agree with you 100% on that background. I went a little over the top on it for no reason.
fixed bg added some detail, still trying to keep them rough
doodle @ work while brainstorming. brush pens is fun
Lake yeah i see what you're talking about. thanks for the suggestions it really helps. eventually i'll have something worth talking about. ha!
here's one last one for the night. probably have some more later this week.
random thought doodlies. just lettin the pen do the talking.
definitely was trying to think as little as possible.
i'm liking these little dorky, stubby, short, fighter jet things. they're just stupid looking enough to merit developing
that guy, on the second page. yeah might develop him a bit further
