Haha, life drawing in the bathroom? Awesome xD!
these gestures are looking goood, keep going with those as they will help with your art (as you know) and just keep getting better!
The bathroom life drawing is looking good too, you've got the basic shapes and forms down nicely, well done! I hope all the stuff I told you a couple of nights ago helps you with what to focus on, and I look forward to seeing the results from that! now I'm going back to hammering the feathers...
Lovely gestures, just lovely! Your drawings look great too, awesome to see you taking them further. The poses, values and designs are stunning, really.
The angle of the head on the last one seems a little off, though. Try subtly suggesting the upper lip, so we can see that those too are at an angle.
Your style reminds me of a mix of Wes Burt and Sashas on dA... And how can it possibly get better than that?
Spirit - I kind of forgot what we talked about >.< I'm focusing more on things I know I'm having trouble with now, so it's start. And good luck with those feathers
Monkey - haha wow first time anyone's ever said my art reminds them of wesley...yay
trying to break some bad habits and not think too much about what I'm doing when I draw...

Yay an update! I like this one
I love your figure drawings, they seem to be coming along very well! Your line confidence in them is great as well, it looks like you just went for it, which is good. Thinking less about what you are doing and just drawing is a great way to approach things too! I can't think of any crits to give for this update, but if you want a reminder of what was said a while back just ask, I think I remember most of it
Your last works are nice and loose, very nice! The torso and arms seem too short on your last ones there, but since you did a relaxing session trying to loosen up, it's fine. We'll manage loose, good-anatomy ones in a while.
Hatching is also nice and loose, and follows the form. That's good.
Haha, Wes is awesome! I remember someone asking for a link to a good artist to be inspired and "learn from", and someone sent a link to Wes' sketchbook. The guy just "someone send me another link cus that one was rubbish".
The entire CA community went "OH NO HE DIDN'T".
Hey, what do you use for shading anyway? I never can seem to go that dark with a mechanical pencil, but seem to remember that you mentioned that you use it.
Spirit : thanks, I think so too
Mischeviouslittleelf : thanks!
Monkey : haha i remember that thread. that's how i discovered burt. that kid was an idiot...
and i use a plain bic mech pencil, 2B and HB.
jatherip : glad you noticed thanks
Guess who FINALLY got a scanner? Rescanned some old ones, and two new ones, but i gotta go to bed now. more later.

Woooo, you have a scanner!
I liiike this update, your sketches are just awesome to look at! The figure drawings are good too, but I'd watch out with proportions, the left hand side one - the thights or the legs themselves are a bit too short. Also the other figure, the torso seems too short/fat, but that might be because of perspective and because its a figure drawing, so take this one with a grain of salt. It's good to see an update, keep up the good work!
Wow, you keep it up, huh?
Great drawings, but your anatomy still seems off. Try something we did in life class: draw the character in one colour, then correct the anatomical mistakes with another one. That way you learn a LOT, not only how to draw it right, but also about your own bad habits!
Izzat sum masterstudies I see thar?
These are great! Lovely lines and the anatomy if getting there!
I've noticed that sometimes when you're shading noses you don't either don't make a gradation of tone or shade really dark way too close to the bridge of the nose. This makes the nose look detached from the face. I'd say study some of the great portrait masters, like Velasquez and Rembrant.
Still have to say, love your work and style, keep it running!
It's been almost a week, man. Where's our update?!
Oooh! These ones look gooood. I love the contrast between the very dark tones and the rest of the sketches! Is that a life drawing I see there? Well done for doing that! It's looking great too, the prespective is good and its an interesting life drawing! I think you should try to finish it, or maybe set up another and finish that one? I'd definitely love to see a finished life drawing from you!
Aah, I missed your update too! bad me!
I like this one, as it's good to see you expermineting with different mark making techniques, such as in the second one. If you're struggling without a reference... you know what you need to do! practice a lot with reference to build your visual memory! The fourth sketch I just love! you could do so much with that one sketch... aah it's too awesome
Where have you disappeared to!
Yaaaaaay! I'm glad you've decided to start posting art again! welcome baaack!
Ok, geez you've been doing a lot of work, huh? Your cross hatching is great just as before, I can never get it to look as smooth. Have you been studying anatomy while you've been gone? I can see a big leap in inprovement since your last update. he only thing I can think to suggest to you is carry on with faces, you're getting good at them but with more practice you will be great. Also, try using tone to suggest the eyes liek you have with the other features of the face, you are still using some symbolism in them I think.
Don't go away again any time soon
thumbs up for the perseverance, keep it up mate!
Looking through this book you seem to still be having trouble with the actual way the eyes are constructed. I'd look into doing more studies of them. Right now most of them look to be too much of a symbol. You seem to fare better with the nose and mouth and the rendering of the sweater in the last update is looking good. Nice subtle shifts in value. I learned that value can be quite a bit closer to each other than we think. We see that when we observe the whole picture.
