Stu: Next time we will bring it hard-damn that magically dissapearing time
Tizzy: Hope all is going well back home-glad you like my lil doodles
ValerioKientz: Thanks....was a bit lazy with scanning this time round-more sketches next time
RokasButkys: Cheers-I need to find more time for creatures soon, I've been practicing people lots of late
gildsquaredpatch: Thankyou so much-I'm glad you enjoy them
Still a long way to go before I understand the human form-you'd think the amount of people we see every day would drum it into out heads!!...anyway, been keeping up with the life draing and studying people a lot recently-hopefully I'll continue to learn.
Still some work to do...especially on the light knight:
just got through your sketchbook and damn.. keeping it nice and steezzyy
clean lines and .. its all good
mm cant realy put something usefull in my post
Man, I have been away for a while. I totally forgot I had subscribed to this but now I remember why. YOU ROCK! I love the style of realistic coloring with the exaggerated characters. Very nice feel and form to it. I would CC, but nothing to say. Batman posing as a bunny rabbit is just too cool. XD
Lovely work Dave! Your character and creature stuff are particularly great! Some adventurous lighting there too! If you get the crispness and design in your environments that would be doubly awesome!vI found environments hard to pull off at the start but once you break past that point and are more comfortable with it (with enough practice under ur belt) it will start to show some results!
You're work rocks! So creative! Too bad Tim Burton is still around. Kidding.
Flash's CA Thread-
GETBUCK: Damn you-no feedback aint no help ha, cheers dude, appreciate it
masterpug: Glad I haven't wasted your subscription
_MOTH_: Cheers-feels like forever ago i did that
Bendragon: True man, so true, I've been concentrating on other things recently to the detriment of my enviros, need to move on to them now.
James Wolf: Cheers dude
the_flash: *explods inside...ggrrrr* haha, yeah man, I tell ya, it happens to us all
Stuff includes some practicing, a cow and DS studies (including one from a lil sketchmeet last night in Canary Wharf)
Looking great as always I really like your people and lighting in post 212, your life drawing is obviously paying dividends!
Glad to see the coffe maker is still proving useful - one day I shall be able to say "ah yes well of course he got where he is today because I enabled him to fuel himself with caffeine more efficiently you know" lol
I'm not convinced your insect looks liek an insect really though although you managed the bipedal part nicely he is lacking the correct number of legs and body segments, I'd like to see him with big multifaceted eyes too :-p
Keep up the good work Big D
i love your style.
excuse my English. Use google to translate
blow me away! Amazing!
all the best
Hi daveneale, great SB, very inspiring! Your creatures are so adorable. I would accept that naked rabbit something with many eyes as a pet!! And your ds sketches make me gather bravery to open my own ds and finally try to paint something with it.
Alex-Thanks dude-see you soon for more fun sketching
Kan-More studying definitely needed!....We need to make sure next time your off work and I'm bunking off we have some sun again
Mazz-Yeah those life drawing sessions are a help fo sure, sill need to do a looooad more before I even begin to understand people though-make sure you get back to it when you have time
mariusz: Glad you like him-went for different colours than I usually would go for with him.
psantha: Thank you for the kind words-though I would advise against having that lil, fella as a pet, he bites....you should definitely hit the DS sketches, it's such a good tool!
Ryan: Cheers buddy-come visit us again soon!
Something for a monthly blog I didn't get round to really doing as well as I'd have liked to, a cow and I fiiiinally got off my ass and attempted to start practising my environments:
yes funny is good , and furthermore that rendering looks pretty nice , but you might want to go more diverse , using the same rendering can create a habit , and my option that habits are bad for your art
dig your last set of sketches , the horned one with the weird udder looks pretty damn funny , maybe you should try do some color on him , go nutz ...
Wow! How on earth could I have missed this sketchbook?
Love the wacky creatures and characters. Great style you got going on here. I hope to see more! ^^
Some pwetty stars and a subscription for you!
Beware, it's a crappy Sketchbook.
"We are all heroes! You and me and Boo..."
really cute style , vary differnt :o
Giorge: Thanks, and yeah, should probably try and diversify...gone for an enviro this time round-kind of different process which was interesting.
jatherip: I appreciate your kind words
Dandilion: Aw thanks-not much more this time around I'm afraid-more fun stuff next time
Lapada: Thank you
Been hammering the work recently so not much time for fun stuff...this was done between work- a few hours in it, took a little bit of a new approach-really need to put in more hours on my enviros
great stuff, your creatures are just too cute for words
