My sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...106521&page=11
thanks everyone, no one needs to feel like an arse, I'm not exactly prolific here!
mrgrumble: I'm sad to say that I now live in Marchmont with all the other students. Don't know if you are familiar with the area or not but its uhh... studenty.
Here is some school stuff, my thunderdome entry and my favourite section of the pencils - I haven't looked at it properly in a couple of weeks (even though the damn thing is taking up so much space in my room) and it seems silmultaneously better and worse than i remember.
that last entry. fantastic
my NEW sketchbook:http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...49#post1755349
Great work! The last illustration I enjoy particularily because of the varied effects, layout and execution. I guess that's pretty all encompasing eh? My only crit for that last one is the woman's right arm appears to incorrect. Her elbow looks too low for the positions she is sitting in. Other than that, great stuff!
fran, giantribot, patdzon, unbreakable + poshspice: thanks!
wheeljack18: I know what you mean about the arm, it's been bugging me - I should probably fix it... next time I'll get it right!
little update today - I've been spending most of my time reading so I haven't had much time for drawing.
The winged boy’s piece is fantastic! Ant the girls in the first, and the other stuff too. Very nice SK.
why do u keep lieing about not been able to draw for ages....?
ur work is so nice....
i liked ur pencil work....
its time to get inspired n move my lazy ass and learn from u a bit here n there
keep them coming
wow, this last illustration is wonderful, i'm pretty sure that I voted for it in the TD. i feel a bit lame for not having any crits, but you are kicking enough ass for me to have a good excuse. Just haha, keep it up!
Out of my mouth.
Yep, that one got my vote in the TD as well - just between us, that one was really my fave out of the bunch. Maybe just because it's closer to the type of stuff I'm trying to do, but I loved it.
Last two are particularly interesting - the oddness of it all is what I like.
great book, ma'am, and then some stars!
subscribing right away. love your stuff.
Man I like your stuff a lot, congrats for the thunderdome thingie.ANd oh yeha, best of luck for the LMS .YOu will need it. Hehe...joking.
It will be nice competing with someone as talented as you.
Subsribed and starred.
Really imaginative stuff, I love the somewhat muted colours you use. I hope you post more!
okay, just noticed those stars! I'm amazed and honoured! thanks! (now the pressure is on to make sure I actually deserve them)
emily g: the pencils in that other post were the final stage before scanning, the colouring was done in photoshop. I used a lot of scanned/photographed textures too. My general process is quite similar to this (although with more layers and more fiddling- and a much larger file size- I think that the size posted is about 12% of the original)
bhanu: I need all the luck I can get! I've got so much to do on top of LMS I've barely had time to think about it let alone get started.
ns_sunilkumar: I'm not lying! It was just over a year ago when I realised that my work was really suffering because of my refusal to 'draw' (I was into painting and photoshop trickery before that- no pencils in my studio!) so now I am very conscious of striking a good balance (and I probably tend to go on about it too)
jens, mydrim, joakimart, krossj, gunnarsson, brendan n, villa, mr blonde, jesse b and halfmonk: thanks! means a lot to me
I'm supposed to be writing an essay (my last paper as a student... and possibly ever!) so here I am, posting instead of researching! This is some stuff I did a while ago but wasn't bothered about enough to post (although now I am, thank procrastination for that) - some colours on a pencil sketch I think I posted here a few months ago and an illustration for a short story about abortion
Very nice artistic style, I'd love to see more
Alice you have a wonderful style! Your girls TD entry was stunning, def my favorite.
I love that recent monsters illustration too
Wow, that Thunderdome piece is stunning! Do you have a higher res version available to see?
I'll be keeping my eye on this sketchbook.
You studying illustration? How's the course in Liverpool/Edinburgh? I'm studying illustration at Westminster in London and I gota say it's absolute rubbish ; [
Keep updating : ]
Your coloured illustrations are quite inspiring nice job on the last two pieces, I'd love to see more from you!
@Post #32: Your waitin for "krabat"?
I love your stuff man, last update is sweeeeeeeet!
Strange that I haven't seen you around before.
Delightful sketchbook! Love the story book illustration feel to your works.
Wonderfully creative stuff.
Don't have any critiques. Maybe some more drawings from life?
