@tasser: This book is quite old and may not be to your liking, but the information about light in it is very good... it's called Light for the Artist by Ted Seth Jacobs. I learned the information in it through my teacher William Rodgers who studied with Jacob Collins who studied with Ted Seth Jacobs.

Hey, thanks for all the comments everyone I'm using a mixture of different markers for these drawings, listed below:
- staedler pigment liners 0.3 to 0.5 for the linework
- copic cold gray 20, warm gray 40, 50, and 70 for the middle grays
- Tombow black brush pen for deep blacks and for thicker linework
- Mitsubishi signo white gel pen for the white highlights
