Looking good monsieur !
But show us some more.
In case you want a crit on it, try to get more consistant highlights. Work with a bigger brush ?
And show us more planes, it all looks a bit flat. Textures are good, but they can't really replace the brush work (unless you really know what you're doing).
Keep it up dude
hey daniel, thanx for always dropping by.. uhm..well, i did this last night, it's my second digital piece that i've worked on for more than 15 minutes, i've put about 1hour and a half into it cause i said to myself ok no rush, just let the music play and paint.
also, it's all on one layer, nothing really special going on.
i'm just experimenting with the tablet.
gonna do some more sefl portraits cause they're a good exercise and it's helping me to learn my way around with painting.
i promise i'll post some concepts too as soon as i get them all together and organise my stuff.
thanx for the crit man, as always.
hey guys, two more digitals
this one done for a good friend.
and this is still w.i.p., have to refine some areas and define the lighting more.
could really use some crits pls.. sry to pop the thread up
Hey man ! ..sorry i was at school
The first one is pretty good. Nice use of planes.
The second one is solid. Play around with values a bit more. Especially the higher values. Remember that (from that light source) the eyes, nose and upper lip will show most of the contrast.
Right now, i'd clean up a bit the brushwork, get some more helpful planes (not too complicated, but enough to get the lighting and details down, even though its pretty early to have the latter). And set a good range of value. Did you do a greyscale ?
nice realistic, damn to good for words
damn dude, your car stuff is amazing... when i was a kid i always wanted to design cars, but even today i SUCK at drawing vehicles. haha
my god, i think i'm waaaay behind on vehicles..
did those on the run just cause i was obliged to..gonna start vehicle work too some day on a more serious level.
right now it's all about tanks and shuttles.. NO MORE PLEASEEE!!! :)
thx for dropping by and for the kind words, complete2
Would love to see you draw that robot again!
back with new stuff, been filled up with work lately and had little time for fun. self portrait. about 2 hrs
will post more soon, comments and crits are welcomed. enjoy.
i really like the pencil car studies..
looking mighty fine monsieur.
hummm you got a good handle on it. Visually, its pretty solid to me. But i'd still separate the two kinds of brushs. Keep the round (or at least the one you used for the highlights) for the general shape, and the textured ones for details/textures.
Besides that, the colors are pretty good, but try to play with colors transitions to see an interesting result.
Keep pushing man.
gonna buy you a large beer one day, daniel. thanks.
i like your last post very much, but in http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...aphx/roger.jpg the head is really big.anyway, very nice character designs
keep it up
You are especially good with eyes man. love the power you add to them
the girls in the first page with those big black eyes are scary!! in a very good way.
As always, sweet tight pencils. And I hate just posting comments like that so...
Work on more dynamic figures, seems like all your characters just stand around all static. Develop narratives, poses, interactions, make your stuff do something.
nice update to finish 2007 :D
I really like the last,,, and the first characters are very interesting.
Happy new year!
feliz año nuevo compadre :D
You draw eyes fuckin amazing bro!
well i look forward to 2008! :P
Thanks so much for your replies, i'll be back soon to answer them all.
Until then, Happy new year and keep your pencils smokin'
happpy new year everyone, it's past midnight here and i'm heading back to drinking.
hey guys, i'm back and sober.
@hmanafi - i know the head is too large for the body, i wanted her to look like a freaky teenager, with as less feminity as possible, perhaps alittle hunchback-ed too..thx for the kindwords, cheers.
@marioucci - thx man, i've done tens of pages with eyes only, i think that in a portrait they do all the hard work. thx for your reply.
@anurizm - haha thx dude.
@That fat Kid - long time no see, andrew, i'll be dropping by your sketchbook today, thanks alot for dropping by man. I'm working on alot of dynamic poses these days but still nothing to worth posting..

where did you get those brushes you used for the background in post #102? id love to steal them =D
keep it up man
Looking good man !
The values are nice. Something that could be interesting is adding a few very dark spots at some places just like the portrait before.
Keep working, and Happy new year to you too !!
@dekus - can't do any digitals now, the tablet was borrowed. can't afford one.
@quick sketch - dunno really, just found them on the net. search for custom brushes.
