Those environments are really something, great inspiration for people like me, who should learn how to do them :)
Thanks for all the replies !!
Still the stars are playing ping pong , back to reality i guess, FOR NOW !!
I was asked to do some design for work, so its gonna be tons of hours more each day to draw and improve. Focusign a lot on improving my lines lately , more than rendering stuff tightly, even if its something i should practice.. All the stuff written in the sb pages are just personal observation where i try to nail a process that works for me...
Said i would thansk everyone so here we go
Iddi: thank you ! You shoudl try some color studies too, and black and white studies..
Rambolin: Cheers !! thanks for checking that dusty sb of mine.
DCEPT: Hey thanks, i love your work by the way
Giroge: Thanks I know, my pencil look like freakin doodles, any tips on how to improve them would be great !
Mock: Thanks buddy, im a bit shy to post my pencil actually so im happy that some people enjoy me sharing them.
Berehin: Thanks !
Wasker: Hello, yep thios book is amazing, i like the way how its divided and the author talks about paint with so much respect, i like the way he use palet knife in his paintings, he master edges so well, hes really a master. You are right about the water, i guess i didnt take time to fade the water to the horizon properly, maybe i do these studies a bit too fast ;O
Wookiebado: Thanks ! Its actually a really simple brush, based on a tip shape that comes with photoshop, i just setted the angle to the pen tilt, after that its all in the way you move your wrist to get the angle you want. I use the same brush to smudge a lot.. Smudging owns hegege
My57: Hey, ansered in your Sb, its not from imagination its a SArgent study, you can find the original on his website.
weggebrecht: woahh thanks for writing in my sb, im a big fan of your work, any help or advice you could give me on pencilling would be greatly appreciated, id like to get clean lines like yours.
IanE: Thanks ! I hope its worth it, not sure hehe maybe all this time should be spent doing only stuff from life.
Reject-D: Cheers buddy
Grandmassa Mr. Spect: Thanks !
Mike Butkus: Thank you, means a lot from a master like you, feel free to crit harshly my work hehe :) All your posts are a big source of inspiration.
Im going to quebec city this week end to see my mother.im probably gonna draw a lot cauz theres nothing esle to do there lol.
Some recent stuff.
A quick black and white sci fi thing, trying to do something interesting in perspective with depth. Ended up beign a bit cheesy and undetailled.
And the second is a brush test with low contrast values colors..
And the usual crappy traditional stuff. Hope you guys enjoy em a bit =/
Wow awesome updates man! You already no I dig your work, but mate it just keeps getting better!
Amazing sketchbook pages, really love your pencil rendering.
One crit tho, is there isn't a lot of contrast in your evos. So I think pushing some of those darks would really help.
haha, stars are funny things, you deserve 5, but don't lose sleep over it!
great updates, mate.
I really like your new fully packed sketchbookpages. cool ideas and you analog drawing seems to be improving a lot!
and the low contrast brushtest is very nice.
If you made the contrast in the foreground a little stronger I think it might help the image to a very foggy feeling. other than that I think the colors are pretty moody and nice already. great work anyway.
I thought I gave you 5* before but no... there you have 'em now ;)
hahaha man defcon79, those were posted like 3 years ago :) Still have trouble focusing on something tho, having only 1 hour per lunch to do something is not helping polishing stuff, but its helping doing things faster, i think patience vs quality is one of the hardest aspect of polishing stuff..
Jailouse, Monotony: You guys are right about the contrast, only silhouettes of values that receed in atmosphere doesnt create contrast but only fog. Should have put a lightsource in those 2. Thanks for the support :)
No post today , gotta go to work do some f*** texturing T_T
your on your breaking point my friend!
Thanks Reject . heres more doodle , mostly on printing paper.
the goal wasnt really to finish stuff but to feel the form in quick sketches..
Very nice sketchy style : ). Though it seems that youre rushing quite alot (like me ;) ). Maybe try to flesh out some of those sketches more. Anyways, great stuff. Keep on drawing : )
Thanks pencil, working on that !
Did this before leaving work, around 5 min , kinda liked the result so heres a little update. Have agood week end !
u are nuts :)
love the energy you bring into your drawings
agreed with above the sketchbook pages are so much more then sketches.
i cant really find a good word to describe it so ill just say it over great energy and info great work.
Hey. Great drawings and paintings. The last character looks interesting.
I think you're at this stage where you could focus on ideas more and do a bit of finished art. For example you try in your sketchbook some faces and poses. Some are pretty good so it's just matter of choosing the best stuff and putting it together. Same goes for environments. Maybe create some world based on single piece and do some concepts for it.
those recent sketches are good, nice lines
your paintings are nice starts, you just need to push on and try to more fully realize something
keep up the good work
well , one tip on your pencil might pe , to use less lines , don't rush , take your time with the rendering " you can be a good painter or a good engraver but a good artist is shown in his drawing" , drawing never lies , take care , hope this helps ^^
P.S. I could use some tips myself on digital painting , i see you are pretty good at it .
mmm fresh fresh, long time no been here, good work mate, keep the good work up! ;) msn?
Been a while again, THANKS everyone for the replies. im trying to rush less and worry less and everything.. and especially finishing stuff. Im really lucky these days , i got the opportunity to do some concept for the game im working on as a level artist, thanks to my boss who believe i can do the job, unfortunately i cant show anything, thats too bad cauz i could really use some feedback..
I sketched this thing during lunch today to try new stuff, all done with the same flat brush.
Next update soon i hope !
Damn your stuffs looking g0000d! Nice strokes in that last one.
Hope your well and thanks for the vist!
Very, very nice stuff. It's cool that you approach almost every painting differenty, experimenting with brushes etc. Some of those environments are just mouthwatering. You sketches are enjoyable as well. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
experiment with brushes, and lost edge, and mood..
wip i will not finish again lol
holy shit matte! that creature is ACE!, your late digital stuff is looking much better, the way you handling the brush stokes is beautiful =) keep up those experiments.
You are really doing some real good stuff here amigo^^ specially like that last dyno monster:D
Nice environments and ur drawing skills do look better now than when u started. keep it up. :)
Why can i get some tangible environment studies? haven't found anything on it :/
Your work is great! attack me with your abuse :D looking forward from hearing from you in the near future!
wow, last two digis look sweet.
love the monster especially. you got down a nice first skintexture for using only one brush!
That definately deserves some more color and detailwork now :)
Lookn' good how you do more on it,
Thanks for your crits man, really apprecate it:)
Your studies are coming along nicely! Still a bit scratchy. Need to follow through to complete some of these. Still nice work, you got some skills...
KEEP ME posted!
