lovely gestures i really like how you focused on drapery, the fods are done very nicely i wish you added some shadow information just for practice, great stuff as of late, that neighbour drawing shows proper fundations i would love to see some compositions and atleast small pieces! dont uderestimate the small sketch :D hope to see more focused studies soon and pieces too! good luck and keep it up aks9!
lionheartGFX: thanks for the kind words, i wasn't really focused on folds or clothing. shadows, yes i shall start including more of that. funnily, the stuff i've been doing the past few days has been the opposite of small, larger sketches on A2 paper
busy, scattered, not much done. tried out some larger page practice, A2
Your gestures/figures are beautiful, would love to see a really finished piece from imagination
some very very nice studies in there, like the progress u made on the orange! keep it up man
M.Calza: thanks, thats good to hear. i consider myself a total beginner to the figure, and am very unsure of my figure drawing abilities, your comment is somewhat encouraging and welcome, thank you
jhonshadow: thanks! ill do some more fruit soon :)
speaking of small sketches (this is in a little A6 sketchbook, which is half the size of a normal "small" sketchbook, fits neatly in pockets):
sorry for poor picture quality, i can't scan these A3 pages and light is poor in the evening.
amazing studies I hope you are fine, what kinda music do you want
to play on your funeral ?!
Well, my music would sound like this :confident
try to pick a sketch and do a illustration out of it to challenge yourself
iven: niiiiiice song! that fits really well. later ill post the song my friend was talking about. i just spent the past hour looking for a song that i can't remember the name of, and havn't found it, so instead i'll go with this:
funeral starts with Thordendal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYkSb7wtj0E
then goes on to Animals as Leaders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ3zSBAr5CY
moves to Glosoli by Sigur Ros: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz8iEJeh26E
and ends with The Protecting Veil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=022lNxhAEec
metal, metal, ambient, choral
udonhead: good idea!
looks like me and you are on the same page; i draw people on the subway. so keep drawing you dog and the people around you, that will help you learn more faster. Great sketch book and thanks for sharing.
Yemi: yeh, i'm actually sort of blown away by how much the life drawing is helping. to anyone who isn't doing it yet... do it, the fact that the models move forces you to consider what is most important to represent a form, that you simply can't get in the same way when copying a photo. plus the infinite variety of life.
thanks for your comment yemi :)

Keep it up!
thanks anendlessvoyager :android:
got more to scan but no time atm
from photo. getting a bit more the hang of this
sorry for not leaving replies in the sketchbooks of the last few of you who have posted here, i'll leave some feedback soon!
imagination and muscle reference
stuff over the past few days
its so jarring and uncomfortable to see the difference in quality between the figure stuff and my prev still life studies. but it corresponds well to the areas i've been focusing on, i couldn't expect anything else
Your figures are looking so good, motivates me to work harder :D The shading really makes a difference, I'll start doing that! Keep posting :D!
thanks mr calza, good to hear that. figures take loads of work, but im slowly seeing it pay off. ill keep an eye on your sb!
I starting reading Harold Speeds "Oil Painting Techniques and Materials". My first impression is that this is a goldmine of knowledge about how to approach learning how to paint and think about painting, not just a manual about the mechanics of oil paint. Stuff about form, light, colour, and how to think about it all. Wish I started reading this earlier.
Getting right down to the fundamentals, great stuff!
Wow! So much progress in two years! The Orange looks great! Can't wait to seem more!
The veins in his arm looks too good. Stay on the grind.
Thanks for the encouragement guys.. I need it sometimes
your progress is amazing. i'll try to find that book by harold speed too. thankyou!
Great works lately! Those 'inky' sketches are great, and one of my favourites - a man from imagination #350. Just keep this on)))
