keep up the hard work
keep up the hard work
Niiiice update! Good improvement for sure. be careful about your shoulder widths though, especially on the wimmens. They should be more bottom heavy in the hips, with less prominent shoulders.
Keep it up dude! And I hope those study buddies are helping too.
figures are getting a lot better!
dont forget about the back of the skull! those last portraits have some issues with that.
other than that keep working
ur on the right track.
Stevan: :D :D
kidult: :D :D :D
Sublimus: Thanks buddy, I'll look out for that in the future.
First is an oil still life from my painting class.
The next two are the final drawings for my life drawing class, the best ones i've done all semester i think.
Let me know what you think!
Some more sketches from today.
I'm happy with some of the skulls, but not with anything else...
I dunno why but I like your style. I am real eager to see where this will go.
Zaorr: Wow...thanks a lot :)
Here's a few more pages from my sketchbook, i've been busy with work and other projects and school starting back up so i haven't been able to do as much as i wanted to, but i will definitely start updating more.
The last one is a study for a plaster sculpture, the hands pretty big i know...
Did some posemaniacs sketches...gonna start doing one of these every day hopefully.
nice poses - i do those every day too. I try to use as few lines as possible.
Ya, that's one thing i need to work on...as well as doing it faster :/
I like your boxer studies, where do you get those reference shots?
More Posemaniacs from tonight.
Here's some more.
cool sketchbook you've going on here! You are definitely doing the right things! Try to do some more "in-depth" studies of the figures you draw, sometimes you seem to rush through things a bit. Also do some more bone and muscle studies, these will help you to see more when you draw from life.
Keep it up man!
posemaniacs studies work really well with the continuous line technique, forces ya to make spacial connections and judgments faster, so ya get more down. don't be afraid of making them really scruffy looking. some good faces further up, but maybe try some studies focusing on particular features, such as the nose, and maybe some lighting studies too, as shadow shapes really help nail down proportions at times. anyway, solid progress.
Nice stuff!! I can see good improvements all around. Just keep up the hard work, and it will pay off for sure.
Thanks for the crits everyone!
I really appreciate it.
I'll do some more studies in my sketchbook and post them later with your crits in mind...namely wookiedabo's :P
Quick boxer study...still not that used to digital...
Wow really cool sketchbook!! I am surprised you thought mine was good, your life drawing's waaay better =) But you're but a spring chicken! I didn't know what I wanted to do til way later XD
Anyway keep up the practice, I would say posemaniacs helps me a lot, not just for figure stuff but for all drawing really, it's training me well!
Your digi stuff is coming on well, it's all just practice and learning and stuff, you're gonna do really well!
Thanks Alex :D
Some more sketchbook pages and a study of a print on my wall by Machado.
this last one is somehow scary!!... ;-)
You seem to draw from life, don't stop doing this!!! Its the best you can do. Love the lifedrawings and figure studies.
great studys this stuff is cool
thanks for sharing
Nice life drawings dude. keep it up!!
Kfeeras: I will definitely never stop drawing from life, i'm also in a life drawing class at school so i'll get a bunch more drawings in here soon.
jedininjaman: Thanks! :D
Sub: Thanks buddy!
some thumbnails while in class :P
all of them were basically scribbles that i took further.
Niccce work in here, love the skulls and the photo studies ( great values in that last one) good pose work as well.
damn you need some stars...
Nice portrait up there! Be carfull though, you lost to form on the far side of her face. I think the roundness could be better told by the shadow shape. But good progress none the less!
JailHouseRock2: Thanks so much! And yes, i would love some stars :P
Sub: Thanks a lot, i did do some corrections and changes to it, it's for a school project.
Upload not working but i do have some stuff to put on...
K let's try this again...it's probably the computer I'm on...
I really like your gesture drawing series below the skeleton drawing.
Always interesting to see this kind of work.
you have a tendency to dislocate the far shoulder in 3/4th shots, and allthough its possible you have been hanging around alot of people with shallow faces in their genetics... I think its probably safe to say your faces are reading a little shallow (think asian). Your work is pretty freakin solid dude, and amedaus was badass, I thus support your avitar fully. Also watch your spines when you are doing gesture drawings (not pose-maniacs) because they straighten out a bit more than looks natural sometimes and your legs are often different lengths to compensate for the rodspine syndrome. Once again, I do like the work, but if your in school right now, then you know as well as I do
a) you need to hear the negative
b) you hear enough positive in crit to last you three lifetimes-per-piece.
