Attachment 787344Been stalking this site for a bit, and thought I'd make meself an SB.
Hi I'm new here. My name is Gee Hale and I'm from Sydney, Australia. I'm currently studying Design and Illustration skills, with a couple of my peeps here. I don't like eating chicken thighs, but I love watching Seinfeld while drawing hihihi! :D
Damn! This site rocks! A lot of really awesome stuff posted here!
I am here to gain more knowledge and inspirations from you guys, so any critiques and comments are welcome.
Hope to learn a lot from you guys while having a ball at the same time :sungod:
THAT WAS WRITTEN in 2009 :)
alriiiiiiiiiiiight finally found this sb! :D Post more art man!
Love your erotic drawings. That naruto is so hilarious.
More stuff! :D
Hey guys, thanks for the comments...and here they are! More post! Went to do some life draw with a few peeps from here! Was pretty coow! :D Yeah, need to work harder! Go go go! :lifedrawing:
Oh, how do I upload more than one file in one post? Anyone can fill me in?
Weeeh! Oh, don't worry about the upload file thingy...I figured it out! Woo hooo!:assspank: Anyways, just a few concepts...:tihi: More to come...!
...feeling depressed...anyway, just a quick paint! C&C are always welcome! Thanks!
I too am feeling depressed looking at your speed painting! LOL Very very nice, making some serious improvement on those Gee!
Hehe thanks man! Yeah, I can only try :D You're killing with your 365 days challenge! 11 months to go! When that happen, I'mma pat you on the back! Or the butt? haha!
another study...I'm dead sleepy now...night! :D
Quick sketch. No ref...just for fun! The transition of using Intuos 4 from a Graphire is really BIG! It's fresh! Like eating a watermelon with knife and fork on a cold summer afternoon. And the graphire has been passed down to my girl, so 2 people are happy! hehe!
Hey G that looks pretty cool man! You should post more of the stuff you do at school
check this out:
yet another speed painting while watching Seinfeld! That show rocks!
Yeah, I might PJ...but most of the work I did are just too big to scan! :wtf:
Damn dude, you have some impressive stuff at the moment.
Thanks bro! Just trying is all...:)
A piece I did awhile back, just a simple 'Good vs Evil' kinda thing. Was planning to sleep in today since, I've been waking up early all week...but the man next door been coughing all morning from smoking too much crack! aaargh!:upset:
Hey guys! These are just something I did a few months ago. Waaa gotta practice more! :lifedrawing:
grats on the intuos 4. HEy you cheated some of this is old heheh.
With those greyscale portratis in your latest post, I think it would be benificial to be more careful about where you place your speculars (brightest values). Try starting out with real dark values like 70-80 and work dark to light. then can add in darks where you want more focus, as well as with the brights. If you look at life, things rarely get that bright.
I'm gonna paint some portraits speedys now so I can show you what I mean.
Ahahah that naruto drawing was kinda funny, but seriously, lay of the manga dude, that stuff will kill you.
A lot of cool stuff in here, like that piece with the large bug... monster thingy. :D Do as Mischevious said btw, manga won't get you anywhere, trust me. Drew that kinda stuff for years without really getting anywhere. :O
Thanks guys! I feel welcomed now hehe! Yeah, no Manga is something that will always be a part of me. That's how I started with art. But, I get what you guys mean by your comments, Thanks! I was only doing them for fun haha! More to come tonight!
Some figure drawings, from posemaniacs and life.
Sometimes drawing feet, hands etc get pretty tedious...so I try to make it more interesting. Meh, just something to keep me learning while having fun at the same time. :lifedrawing:
Got some pretty sweet linework going on here, man. I feel like your digital paintings get a little too saturated, though. Keep going!
Hai Thanks, man! Yeah, I'll work on it. I think my screen is messed up! Somehow it looks desaturated on the web in comparison to my PS screen haha! I suck! :p
I'm working on my 'Idol' tribute coffee table book, for school. I'll post it up as soon as I get it done sometimes today or tomorrow. I hope...:assspank:
Anyway, another quickie...I really need to paint more often!!! :ore:
Coffee Table tribute book cover project. Finally done! Damn you back!!! Aaargh!
A tribute I did for one of the most influential person in the art world. This is my homage to the legendary, Katsuhiro Otomo. I tried not to get to much reference for this piece, rather I used my memories as much as I could. Although, i did watched 'Steamboy' and 'Akira' a few days ago hehe! In the picture I tried to incorporate all the major characters in his animations. And that is my take on Otomo himself as a cyborg of some sort haha!
This is only the line art (slow poke). I'll post the finished piece when it's done. Take it easy guys!:oneye:
the homage piece is looking real nice so far. My only suggestion at this point is to correct the japanese in the background.
If you want to make an authentic tribute it'll help to use the correct japanese because otherwise it just looks arbitrary. Reading it now it doesnt say anything. I don't know alot of japanese but I'm sure that is just jibberish.
I recognise steamboy but you've made him look alot older, I know you didn't use reference but if you want to make it accurate you may as well.
I know reference can slow things up when working ona piece and can make things too contrived, but now that you've worked out the compisition and context, might be worthwhile to touch things up with reference now.
Hey Cam, Thanks man!
Yeah, I made Steamboy to be like that, 'cos I liked the Older look, Otomo drew on the Director's Cut edition DvD cover. But, yeah I can understand why you'd think like that otherwise, he is a 'boy' after all haha! Oh the Kanji actually says, 'dreams'. It's not really the fonts I'm gonna use, this was just a mock up to see where things would go composition wise. Yeah, I'll be doing the calligraphy myself once coloring is done. Back to work for me! :lifedrawing:
10 mins life painting done in Corel painter. I really enjoy Corel. Hope to get it one day. A couple of proportion problems. Need to get use to life painting :lifedrawing:
Also, my first ever CHOW. A pretty rushed job, 4- 5 hrs. I had too much assignments and a commission to do, But the topic was too good for me to ignore. The idea came from a ghost that I saw when I was younger. Scarred for life!!! :\ C&C always welcome!
After I dropped my gf at the train stn, I decided to catch a bus. So I did some sketches while I wait for the bus... then I realised that I was at the wrong bus stop! waaaaa! No wonder my bus never came! :rocker:
These were done at Circular Quay.
Yeppersz! Quick figure sketches! :lifedrawing:
