Composition Presentation 1: Design Theory for Artists
Happy Birthday John! find a way to keep in touch!
Hope yer holidays were decent and the transfer to boston fares well. keep in touch (grey_paint@yahoo if you can't reach me here). i told pat i'd keep an eye on you (it's the least i can do to redeem the second half of last semester). don't be a stranger.
You've spent a great deal more time practicing actual figure drawing than perhaps i'd been cartooning, and i've been doing it since i was six and with a head start in life.
I can't say i envy your talent; you've clearly put more time and effort into it. At least in our class, your ethic is a model which anyone one else should learn from. But i will admit with candor that i am moved beyond impression and in to fandom. I will aim to maintain a dialogue with you as long as i can, and hope to see your progress.
Also, after talking with you (and reading reading your statement), i'm learning a great deal about what drives you with such fervor to excel. It's refreshing to be near someone with your level of maturity and focus and see the talent that relationship produces. Yours is the kind that kindles my competitive spirit (if only we'd cross paths sooner!) and i'll be striving in my personal time to actual take the time and learn the process the old fashioned way.
you and my aunt share a birthday. that's all i've got to say for now, going back to class.
